At 74 years old, I finally realized during this last deer hunt, that I can no longer conquer the mountains of southern Arizona. If you're interested, I am selling my 50 Caliber Pedersoli Missouri River Hawken. I have only shot approximately 20 shots out of it. The William Malcohm 6x scope was patented in 1855 in Syracuse, NY. 30" Barrel with a 1 in 24" twist. Will include any and all accessories. All the specs can be seen on www.Muzzleloaders.com. Asking $2,000

A GOOD brake is the key. Top XP 22-250 AI , bottom 6.5-284. Both have 4.5x14 mark 4 Leupolds. They barely move.

Thanks for that info. A good .5 mil tree reticle in FFP, maybe a 4-12x42, with a IER or EER, would be perfect for me but for such a small market that type of scope will never exist. Yeah I have all kinds of notions on how I prefer scopes to be. I shoot a airgun match called Field Target and they have a division called HFT/Hunter Field Target. I use a FFP Athlon Helos G2 2-12x42 in Mil. We can only use holds so no dialing. In this division I won state 2 years ago and a big match in Cali earlier this year> I mention it because I'm familiar using a rifle scope on a air pistol/pifle, however I'm a little worried about getting a hit on my eyebrow by a rifle scope mounted on a centerfire pistol having 3" eye relief. I would prefer not to be that close but I guess it is what it is. Here's that pcp HFT pifle I named Purple Reign, made by Thomas Air, and it'll make one ragged hole at 50Y if it's calm out.

Its very simple, read the post. Call the man that owns the gun and he will answer any questions you have. Its ok to have a conversation with people thats what we used to do before texting.

Nothing in 36b. Didn't see bachelor groups. All the bucks we saw were solo so I guess that's step one.

I seem to remember that bottom action introduced in the 90's for a few hundred and the company was soon bought out.

The Burris 3x12 with Ballistic plex is about the only option for a pistol scope. Most folks now use a good muzzle brake and any high end rifle scope with the reticle of your choice.

Decided to go try a new hunt in Wyoming with a buddy. He has hunted the area a few times and had good success. Arrived on a Friday morning and drove a fair amount of country trying to cut tracks in the snow. The day was a bust on sightings or tracks. Next day we split up and the morning was a bust, however the evening I hiked into a canyon and found a couple bulls and a few cows but last light with no time to make a play. Day 3, I hiked into a drainage near where I spotted the elk the day prior and found 10 bulls. I closed the distance to 270 yards and put 3 bullets in this one. Beautiful country but man the wind sure does blow up there…almost every day it seems. Great cap on an awesome season!
