If you need packable power try something like this. You can find one to match the power tool batteries of any major brand (Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, etc.). Using an 8ah 18 or 20 volt battery (depending on the brand) I'll get about 4-6+ hours (depending on the work load) of continuous usage on a charge with my Starlink mini. The 8ah battery and inverter weigh about 3 lbs combined. I've used this setup to sneak out of the office to hunt or fish and still conduct business (in non-cell service areas) on more than a few occasions. The whole setup (Starlink, battery setup, & laptop) probably adds 6-8 lbs to my pack. But man is it worth it to be fishing and hunting on a "workday".

I've been saving points for Elk Deer and Antelope for 12 years. I can finally start cashing them in since the alimony is done! I'll probably do them antelope, dear, elk.

I wish I had gotten the mini- but it wasn't out yet. I am very happy with Starlink - when we go camping on 4th with multiple families, it sounds terrible, but everyone loves it, one time it had 32 users connected at once- music, movies, teenagers hate to be away from their phones as much as it pains me, they can't put them down, they are soooo much better at camp with signal than driving to get signal and doing who knows what at all hours of the night - I also can work for days in the cool pines vs office / field.

Because a license purchase is eligible for matching Pitman Robertson dollars. It’s the best bang for the buck for the dept.

I actually had 7-8 moose points for a while and walked away from them when they went to $100 on them years ago. Kept my sheep points, cuz sheep are life, and I’ve killed 2 Shiras already and don’t have much use for another one. I’m pretty positive they’ll go to a weighted lottery on moose and sheep before long so my 18 sheep points might someday do me some good. It’s a risk I’m willing to take to get another sheep tag!

Late to the show, but good timing when i fond this thread. We are at that life changing moment with soon to be more freedom ( last kid is done with HS in a month). Trying to figure this out for myself. The wife is self employed and able to now come out on trips... if i can get her setup to work from the trailer. was looking at the mini, so she has the ability to work from the truck on the way up and then setup something for her to work while were out in the field. Sounds like the mini, and roam are the way to go. thanks for all the input. Any specific set ups or combos that could be recommended. Sounds like most of the questions we had about how this would work were answered above.

I agree but look how many idiots bought their first point last year.

Wyoming NR moose and sheep is a farce. Better off buying a raffle ticket than points.

I've had to stop a few times at the top of the switchbacks above the mine to cool the brakes. Usually takes about 8 bottles of water

I can't wait until AZ cranks the non resident prices sky high. Every other state is going hog wild on increases for NR except us.

First trip of the year was our annual Mexico trip. I’ve been with Rob in old Mexico maybe 12-13 times. As always a great trip with friends. This year was tough in regards to big bucks but we had a great time regardless and still killed some solid bucks. I haven’t killed a buck for a few years now I’m hoping we can manage for older class bucks but who knows, it seems like we never see the same deer anyway.
