  1. I have a 2014 Polaris Ranger Crew EPS for sale. This vehicle has only 3310 miles and 330.2 hrs. It has a 3” lift and 28x10” tires on it. I have also added the Dragon fire Racing doors. It has full length rock sliders to protect the underside. It has (2)4” cube led lights and (1) 13” light bar on the front and (1) 6” light bar above the rear window. It has the full glass front windshield and the 1/2 poly front windshield, you can choose which one you want to use depending on the weather. The rear window is glass and is tinted. It also has the driver and passenger mirrors as well as a rear view mirror. It has a horn as well. The tires are the Tuska Terrabite tires 28x10” D.O.T approved and the wheels are the MSA M20’S. It has a full length tool box in the bed and is easily removed with the lock and ride connectors. All fluids have just been changed as well as the front and rear differential and transmission. I am asking $15,000 or Best Offer. Have title in hand. It’s street legal. Not looking for an trades.
  2. Well no elk tag so I figured I’d get my mind off of it by working up a new load for deer/antelope sized critters and I’m trying to decide what bullets to try. I like two holes so I’ve always shot partitions or Barnes but I’m thinking of extending my range a little to maybe 400 or 500 yards. I planned to use the TTSX since they shoot so well, but I won’t have enough velocity beyond about 350 yards to know for certain that I’ll get good expansion. Partitions don’t group as well for me at the longer distances. After doing some reading and researching I’m finding good info on the Hornady ELD X and Berger. Sounds like Bergers generally explode on impact which gives great results if you hit in the ribs, but less consistent results if you’re a little far forward into the shoulder. The ELD X is pretty new so I mostly find info about accuracy, but not a lot of detail about performance on game. Although what I have found about on game performance has been mostly very positive. Do any of you have recommendations for a solid performer for these conditions? I might have enough points in the next year or two to hunt the strip which was another reason I was thinking about Barnes but I’d want something that I know will expand as the velocity drops off. If it performed well on elk that would be nice, but not my main focus right now. Another plus to the ELDX is they cost about the same as standard rounds so I could afford to practice with my actual hunting load. Thanks for any input!

Same deer shot by two hunters

Hey all, Hope i'm posting this on the right section.... I've been hunting for 13 years now, taken two deer over that time. This past weekend during our muzzleloader season, I was hunting a distant relative's property for the first time. One other gentleman was hunting there as well whom I actually bumped into on my way through the woods. Around 8:30am, I had a line of doe come through and I placed a shot on the largest one I saw. About 60 seconds later I heard a shot presumably from the other hunter. As I got up to track the doe, I came upon him standing with the deer down about 50 yards from where I had shot. My shot was a little far back, puncturing the diaphram and grazed the stomach from what I could tell. (Maybe a bit of lung? There was a pretty heavy bright blood trail) His shot was on the spine at the base of the neck. We were both unsure what to do next. After a friendly conversation, dressing the deer together, and some hem and hawing, I decided to offer up the deer for him to tag. Seems that this is a coin toss situation. Some people I talk to say first blood should take the harvest (within a reasonable distance), others say kill shot. I'm curious of your folks' input!

    Sheds vs Home area

What have you found in terms of finding desert mule deer antlers in the spring vs where you locate them in the fall in their home areas? We find big bucks during the rut but can't find them during the rifle seasons. This year we hope to go looking for sheds in the surrounding areas and were wondering if we happen to find these buck's sheds, is that where they'll be in the fall or is that a totally different area as well? I figured it might be since they're movement isn't snow related like high country deer and elk. Any thoughts and experiences are welcomed. Thanks

    Coues or Muley

Well just like the title says, is this a Coues or a Muley?
  17. I know this story is a little late in the year, but I thought I'd share it anyway! This is my second archery coues deer with my Mathews Jewel. I hunted for 8 long days in the best unit in the world (27) and bagged this boy all on my own. It was my first hunt that my dad let me do on my own! I loved the experience of it but it is definitely better to have someone experience it with you and share that story. Anyways, I made a perfect shot right through the lungs at 30 yds. He went maybe 40 yds before he dropped dead:) I shot him with a grim reaper broad head (as well as my 2014 buck) and I will never use any other broad head again! There amazing-in my personal opinion. Also, I don't care if any of you think he's "too small" because I love him and am very proud of him! Thanks for reading! Good hunting, Shelby Teel P.S. If anyone missed my 2014 buck it's on my page, check it out!

    Some new photos from May

For Mother's Day this year, my son & his girlfriend took me kayaking on the Salt River. The horses never cease to amaze me, but this was the first time I've kayaked through the middle of the herd. I couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day gift than this. Plus a very nice man took our picture with a drone and e-mailed it to us. I'm the one in the back teaching my grandbaby dog how to ride on a kayak. I was sure hoping he wasn't taking pictures at first because Koa needed a little time to get used to riding on the kayak and it was a bit of an embarrassing adventure at first. I really don't know what to say, but what a cute smile (please zoom in on this one) These were taken during my feeble attempt at turkey hunting this year. I was supposed to go a different time, but ended up at the Tucson Mule Deer Federation Banquet and was so glad I did. I've never been to a banquet like that before and they do absolutely wonderful things for the mule deer in our state! It was almost better than turkey hunting, but not quite...lol I did manage to see the end of a rainbow (my first) while turkey hunting, lots of deer & elk, and quite a bit of snow but I struck out in the turkey department. REPTILES I recently came across this Gila Monster. I can still count on one hand how many I've seen in the wild. Patch nose snake that had recently eaten another snake (notice the lumpy body). Invasive soft shell turtle I caught with my fishing pole Glossy snake & I thought the picture of me taking this picture was kinda neat so I'm including it too. I do have a long lens, but I still have to get somewhat close. Greater Earless & Desert Spiny lizards A very angry Gopher Snake Photographed on foot at 50 yards (not by the lakes - this was a different unit). It was interesting. They are so different than deer or elk. I felt like I was their zoo and it was me they came to see. The little guy was a complete stitch to watch. He was running and jumping everywhere. Sure was fun to watch. And finally this summer don't forget to TAKE A KID FISHING!

  21. So me and my dad are putting in for deer this year in unit 3a/3c. I have hunted the area before a couple of years ago, but it was for elk not deer. I am sort of familiar with the area but it has been 2 years since i have been back. I would like to hear from anyone that has had any luck up there and maybe point me in the right direction. I am not looking for anyones honey hole or hot spots i would just like a general knowledge of where a good area would be to start scouting. After I get done with school, I plan on making a few trips up there and setting up some game cameras. Just any advice would be helpful to maybe stay away from the burnout or what not. And it is the later october hunt.
  22. Finally got out and did some hunting after much too long of a break. We had a lot of stands busted by other hunters-archery deer, javelina and quail hunters, but still managed to have a good time and some success. I called in a double one morning and took one. Another morning I called in my first deer, a nice 3x4 mule deer buck and his 5 does. He was rutting them hard. The does were real curious about the sounds I was making. I also called in another coyote tthat couldn't be taken by my partner, we decided it was going to be a shotgun stand and the yote was out too far. I had my 12 ga/.223 combo gun at the ready, but I didn't see the dog come in. Can't wait to get out again! The coyote we took
  23. Comrades, The cape and horns of the buck on the right has been delivered to the taxidermist. I asked him to wait until after this year in case I get a larger coues. This year I got the Coues on the left. It green scored 87+... the one on the right scored 85. Both are really pretty symmetrical racks... The left deer with about 2" deductions, the one on the right, less than 1" deductions. Any recommendations of which rack to use?
  24. Need help for upcoming coues deer hunt with bow.v I have been doing some fact gathering for an upcoming archery coues deer hunt in unit 27. My brother and i both have a tag and plan on starting Jan 2nd. We plan to roll light with enough to be away from truck for 3-4 days . I have spoken with a couple people regarding starting places. We plan on spending time in both wilderness areas inside the coronado. Any advice would be appreciated such as 1. what tactics in january would you use, water hole, spot/stalk/ travel corridors , etc 2. where would you hunt? 3. other than the coronado , can the BLM land north of coronado be hunted? the black mountains, etc? 4. any tactics , grunting / rattling to take advantage of rut? 5. any advice on the illegal situation in that area, dangers, do/donts? thanks for any input , its our first run down to this area. thanks in advance for any help.
