My daughter shot her first buck Saturday She was headed to SEMA with her husband so her time was limited. Thanks to my buddy Ammon we made the best of it.

My wife and I got tags together this year for the same hunt for the first time. We were real excited for this hunt, more than usual. Opening day I spotted her buck 2100 yards out and figured he was a mid 80’s buck. We kept an eye on him every 5 minutes to see where he beds down. While keeping tabs on him we saw 10 other bucks but nothing worth chasing after. Once her buck bedded down under a tree, we marked the spot and started the stalk. We snuck into 330 yards and the rest is history. The buck had a bigger body than we thought and scored right at 90. We had a long pack-out back to the ranger and feeling the aches and soreness today. Over the next few days we looked over 30 bucks or so. I was looking for a 4+ year old buck (secretly trying to beat my wifes buck!) I didn’t have any luck. Monday morning came and I spotted a big 2x2 buck that we have seen maybe 8 times and never gave chase to him. He bedded down during grey light and the wife and I took off. We snuck into 380 yards and waited about an hour for him to stand up and the hunt was done. My buddy Christian showed up to help out with the morning Monday hunt, he carried out some weight which was nice! Thanks amigo! Overall deer movement was phenomenal even with the full moon. The freezer is full with our bucks and my sons junior buck. We’ll definitely put in together again next year.

I guess I never shared this buck. I figured I would just because Since I get to go to Mx every year I've tried to apply and get mule deer tags whenever I can. I really can see the writing on the wall and the decline of the mule deer. I shot this buck in CO in 2021 on a solo hunt in a new area. Got a little lucky for sure.

Looks like an old well casing, where a windmill used to be or jack pump.

Sounds right, but..... Have him try these guys: 602-942-3000. Not trying to be a smart butt, just really think he should get it right from the department as opposed to from this crowd. (No offence, folks! lol)

Thanks! First animal I've ever actually harvested. Cow Tag was in Unit 1. First day there wasn't a lot of action. Woke up in the woods to it being a balmy 8 degrees 😂. Met a few local coyote hunters and got some decent tips, so decided to move camp. Day 2 we glassed mostly pronghorn and a ram in the morning. Noon came around and got hit with a wind advisory for the rest of the day. We had gusts up to 50 mph, so not very advantageous for glassing. Saw a few dozen Elk about 800 yards from camp and said "F It", and decided to make a play to hopefully somewhat salvage the day. I got onto a small of herd of about 6-8 Cows with a Bull. 1 Cow was hanging back from the group and busted me (first time I'd heard an Elk bark) about 140 yards away behind a large tree. Final day out, my buddy glassed another herd in a different set of woods from camp. Decided to mosey on into the woods and see what we could make happen. I shot this one at about 163 yards. After being skunked for 3 years, I was ecstatic to be able to punch this tag.

Forgive the commentary, After I realized the buck was moving fairly quick I decided we needed more bullets in the air.

Left hand Remington 700. Shilen barrel with brake, timney trigger, DNZ scope base, sling. Components include bullets, brass, dies and ammo boxes. Around 185 pieces of brass, mostly Weatherby brand and some Nosler. Bullets as shown, around 230 pieces. Two sets of dies. One RCBS and one Redding. Redding is new Type S Match. Most pieces of brass are once fired or new, never fired. I have 50 pieces loaded up with the TSX Barnes. Nothing wrong with the rifle. I just tend to not use it like I should. Maybe it’s because it’s kind of expensive to shoot. I use the non magnums almost all the time to hunt and I had this built because I thought I had to have a magnum. It really likes the factory Weatherby 180 grain partition and it shoots them as well as the reloads. They’re about $100 a box. Whole package is $1050.00. If interested in the rifle without all of the components or some of the components, I’m willing to separate if it’s fair for both parties. Message me here and I will check up throughout the days. I’m located in Holbrook, AZ but regularly visit Show Low, St. John’s and Winslow.

It will be the tag fee plus $13 for the app fee. Residents send in $38 for a leftover javelina.

I've got a couple of old Macs and an old Stihl. Parts are getting next to impossible to find. I have no problem putting in time to clean and replace fuel lines, or even replace carbs if available. But if there are other problems, some not fixable, then I don't want to throw $125 in the trash. But I am interested as I use chainsaws in my Orange Grove and around my residence, especially after getting hit by some bad storms. That's a 10' step ladder. Too much fun!

Deepest pockets, its now a money grab. Crazy part my whole life I was told not to swim in the rim lakes do to under water hazards, I take no worse then the saltvriver. Anyway now everyone and there mother are on paddle boards tubes , . What ever happened to being responsible for your own actions. Trajic accident and I have know clue what the outcome will be. Tonto Basin was flat out stupid parents. People say they should have done jail time, loosing your kids is probably worse. My deal is 4 kids die , there better be one parent with them. But hay just bought a new truck that tells me to check back seat for valuables and children. WTF is more important then your child, oh ya your phone. Sad days .Only my opinion. Proceed

Hey everyone, Thought I'd share a recent video that we just finished up to help us get through the rest of July and first part of August until the archery hunt. I hope you enjoy!

I don’t know but for me “success” means different things for each hunt. When you tag out on an animal you’re happy with, of course that’s success. But I’ve also gone on “unsuccessful” hunts where no freezer was filled that I would consider a success due to the memories made with family, learning new areas in a unit, and getting to learn more about how the animals behave at different times of the day or different times of year

Some hunts are ruined by killing something. I used to be all about the kill. As I have got older it has changed and I think I enjoy helping or watching someone else as much as hunting for myself. That said, there is nothing like glassing up a trophy and making a great stalk or shot. I think the most successful hunt I have ever had was a late archery bull hunt that I hunted a specific bull for 3 days and finally killed him at 15 yards.

Man, I was just having a conversation about the this. Only one trip around this sun, and that sunrise in that location will never happen again.. That’s the part that’s hard to explain to people who don’t hunt. . The stuff you see, hear, feel, that will never be again

I haven’t seen a beating like that since someone stuck a banana down my pants and turned a monkey loose.
