We couldn't make it out on opening day due to school and sports. After practice on Friday we loaded up the jumping jack and headed out into the rain for the weekend. We got about 3/4 inch of rain on Friday so the drive in to camp was sloppy and a whole ball of fun for the tacoma. Saturday we covered a lot of country with no luck in the prime glassing time. The morning had no sun and the rain was coming and going. The temperature was warm and that kept the javelina in the flats. We changed strategy and went where we can glass a large flat area. We quickly found a herd feeding but no way to landmark the spot. I tried a new trick, I marked where I was on ONx maps and then I marked a mountain that was 5 miles away, the herd was somewhere along that line I marked on the app. We parked and started walking in, only took bout 30 minutes til we found their digs. The wind was wrong and the herd was 60 yards away, couldn't get a shot and they boogied out. That afternoon my son said he enjoyed tracking javelina in the mud and it was more exciting than glassing. I went to another spot in the flats and we followed fresh tracks for several hours but couldn't catch up to the herd. Sunday morning was clear and sunny and we had high hopes. I started glassing early before the sun rise to see what coues bucks were rutting in the area. It took less than 1 minute of glassing and a herd was spotted on the move. We made the mile stalk to where they were, took our time and picked out the largest looking male and Colby made a great shot. All in all we got 1.5 inches of rain during the hunt which was great to see.

The biggest difference between guys like you, Trouble Sh00ter, members of the commission, and a lot of these guides is the fine line of hypocrisy. I'd bet a month’s pay that every one of us who have hunter more than a few season have unintentionally and unknowingly (as I believe was the case with both guides discussed here) committed as egregious of violations. Most of them would probably warrant a warning, small fine, or assigned education. But the commission, and you keyboard jurors, feeling max penalties and 5 year revocations are appropriate for these individuals is disgusting and abuse of power on the part of the commission.

I had kinda the same experience with him a few weeks ago on a Mexico Deer Hunt. Myself and my best friend booked a fully guided coues deer hunt in Mexico. Paid $6500 each. We got to see every corner of the ranch every day. We drove from spot to spot glassing and seeing the same dang 2 point deer over and over. FML. The food was so nasty the ranch dogs probably gained 10lbs in 4.5 days. Steve himself took my best friend. oh ya he split us up. And pressured him into shooting a 2 point buck with crab claws maybe a 80 in deer. I kindly told Steve that i did not think there was a reason for me to hunt the last day. He told me he would still go out. i said ok. ill stay and help clean ticks off the hide for my friend. He got so offended over night that he told us we were leaving early because he didnt want to hang out. Then he left us at the end of the ranch road for us to find our way back.

You guys are killing me. Getting hammered at work and haven't been able to get out. I was going to go to Louisiana this weekend as I just had my brother pick up a boat for me but the weather is going to suck. North winds blowing the water out of the marsh into the Gulf and super cold temps. Going in a couple of weeks when it's warmer. Hopefully there won't be a fish kill with temps in the 20's. With that said I got him a Calcutta 400 for his birthday since he is a Abu Garcia guy and has been using my 250. Been looking for a Abu C3 but nobody has the model I'm looking for so I just may order one. I bought some Izorline Platinum 15# so we'll see how that does. I also bought some SUNLINE FC Sniper Florocarbon 16# to put on my 200. Hoping it "behaves" and doesn't spring off the spool like most Floro's.

Mark how's Your back ? Have You Fished Rosey lately? Talkalai is running over the top. And very muddy. A few Tribal Members told Me that San Carlos is really low. But lots of fish are being caught. Want to go somewhere on Saturday and catch fish.

I miss those hunts. I used to look forward to those than any of my own tags.

Reminds me of the time I ordered 120 bucks worth of sushi and the power went out in half the town. Luckily those smart Asians had a carbon machine for credit cards. Luckily I had real money in my pocket and didn't have to wait in line with all the crybabies. It's convenient but not always going to work.
