Jim Heffelfinger presented. He’s about as good as they come. He reviewed the claims put forth by the petition. Then he discredited each while citing sources and data. It was a perfect example of science based conservation and wildlife management. I hope it gets shown everywhere. It’s obvious Jim likes the spotlight, and we are lucky to have him.

I wasn't there but watched the webcast. The Commission started off by taking public comments followed by a short presentation by the AZGFD staff. After that more public comment was taken. The overwhelming majority of public speakers opposed the two petitions. It was an incredible show of unity among all sportsmen and women, and even some amazing kiddos who spoke. The AZGFD recommended to deny both petitions at which the Commissioners unanimously voted to deny.

I missed his presentation but from what someone else said he had a very well prepared presentation that debunked CBD’s concerns

Wasn’t there but watched what I could, basically they let CBD spokesman talk and then AZGFD biologist gave his presentation. Next hours of blue card speakers for and against and then 3 seconds for the commission to deny both petitions.

Looks like the commission just unanimously voted to deny the 2 petitions by the CBD, we’ll see where the CBD goes from here.

yes, they approved, and I don't recall any changes. Now that they decided to make changes every 5 years or so (I believe we are 2 years away more changes) they pretty much go by what is recommended. I have started making a list of things I would like changed. #1 change for me is no more taking of hen turkey in the fall. From what I have observed, most the birds killed this time of year are hens. For the life of me I don't know why they allow the killing of baby makers. Almost everything walking or flying in the woods kills turkeys/poults. Let the hens have a chance to produce more then we may have more opportunity.

The history I received , it came from a family out of Wyoming, the family came from Kansas in covered wagon and this carbine was with them when they settled in Moose Wyoming. It’s been used to harvest Elk, deer, moose and grizzly according to them. The grandfather ran a trap line at the turn of century using this rifle. Cool piece of history.

I have had other colts from Mexico in the past. This type engraving is similar to others I have seen. Roy Marcot book is terrific!

Brevettes are neat. Very historical. Roy Marcot did a good book on them. Lot of them had interesting lives south of the border.

Roasted Brussels sprouts & onions, plus pan seared salmon, last night. Love grilled/charred veggies, and I'm really liking the 'grill roaster pan thingy' that I picked-up at Ace a few weeks ago. PS: Bought that used grill from @Big Browns for $50 several years ago, and still going strong!
