This rifle is brand new and built in 2013. It was made here in Arizona and I like the fact the serial is number 48. Arizona was the 48th state excepted to the union. Just an fyi. Hogan was the manufacturer for POF and GA Precision. They built the parts and those companies assembled sold the rifle under their name. Hogan started building there own rifles in 2012 for a couple years before a lawsuit was filed by POF. This is basically a POF P308. I planned on using this for hunting, but recently bought a POF chambered in .308. Description: H308 Short stroke gas trap piston operated. Barrel is a Rock Creek barrel blank. 1:10 twist, 7.62NATO chamber, medium contour, melonite heat treated barrel and gas piston system. Upper receiver is Free floating Monolithic upper with rail system. Black mil spec type3 hard coat anodized with Nickel plating inside, or NP3. Made from 7075 billet aluminum. Rev-X forearm: Rails bolt on at the 3,6,9 O’clock positions. Two styles are available, Tactical and Hunter. Tactical rail: Top rail is monolithic from front of forearm to back of upper receiver. Hunter rail: Top rail is dip cut for larger bell optics to clear with lower mount rings for better ergonomics. Bolt Carrier Group, bolt is chrome, carrier is one piece design for Piston use, electro less nickel plated. Lower is Hogan MFG design Billet 7075 aluminum with integrated trigger floor plate, and ambi bolt release. Black mil spec type3 hard coat anodized, or NP3. Hogan Gold Standard Trigger installed with KNS anti-rotation pins. Clean 4.5# single stage match trigger. Ambi selector installed. H3 carbine buffer, Wolffe 308 carbine spring. New X-brake muzzle device with jam nut. Hogan MFG. machines the Upper and Lower receivers from 7075 billet aluminum. We make the bolt, bolt carrier, charging handle, gas manifold, gas plug, gas piston, barrel nut, rail system, and all the detents and pins used in the lower parts kit. The barrel is a Rock Creek barrel blank, chambered, contoured, and fluted by Hogan MFG. Heat treat and anodize is all done right here in AZ. Magpul PRS adjustable stock and one 20 round magazine. Located in north Peoria. $2200 and I would entertain trading for Swarovski NL optics or silver coins. David

Coues tag started Dec 15 on Ft. Huachuca and I hadn’t had much time to hunt, so I broke away on 30th for a quick day trip. Hit the road at 3:30 AM, buck down by 8:30, and back home by noon. Glassed all morning, only picking up does and no sign of bucks. I was just about ready to pack up and move when I gave it one last look. Caught a flick of movement that gave him away. He was tucked in perfectly—never saw his head or antlers—but his body size told me he was a buck. He was about 400 yards out with no shot, so I ditched my gear and closed the distance to 225. At first I couldn’t find him and thought he might’ve slipped out, but after slowing down I picked up his legs in the same spot—standing now, still no shot. If he dipped, I was done. Instead, he turned in place and bedded back down, opening up a small 12-inch window through the brush. That was all I needed. He never made it out of his bed. Shout out to all the guys on here that gave me some knowledge and pointers! Thanks a ton! Tried adding more pics, but wouldn’t let me got some reason.

Just a small heads up so no one gets in trouble, unless something changed in the last few months, a 1x scope is not legal in NM. It must be iron sights like NV. This scope would be legal in UT however.

Sorry for the late response. Had a family member pass away, and life’s been hectic. We ended up getting the big Bo pass, and we ended up camping in my trailer out there. Before the hunt there was some pretty good rain in that area, which made for some very muddy roads. But it dried up for the most part before the hunt started. In two scouting trips I found 4 different groups of elk, and a few nice bulls. On opening morning we set up on a spot where we had found the biggest bull. It was a nice 6x7 in the 340-360 range. Unfortunately on the way up, my dad fell really hard and landed on the gun. We hoped for the best, but our fears were confirmed. We got a good shot at the bull and my dad missed. We went and sailed the gun back in and went back to work. We never could turn up that bull again, and some other hunters moved in. We went to another few spots, and saw bulls, but they were always too far for a shot. We tried a few walks through the thick stuff, and it was productive. If I had the tag we could have shot a few nice bulls. My dad was always just a few seconds too slow. On day five we lowered our standards, and went to a spot we had seen elk crossing in the mornings, and set up. When I looked through my binos for the first time that morning I instantly saw three bulls. 2 decent 6s and this little goofy bull. My dad couldn’t make out which bull was which, and took the clearest shot. It was a nice 282 yard shot from my shooting tripod I put together for my kids. It was an absolute pleasure getting to help my dad on his last elk hunt, and have my son there with us. His Parkinson’s is definitely getting the better of him, and it was hard to watch him suffer. But he was a trooper and we put 3-4 miles on our boots every day, with some being longer. I just want to say thank you to everyone who offered help, and gave me pointers. I really appreciate it. You guys are awesome. That’s one more great memory I’ll have of my father, and I wouldn’t trade it for any amount of money. My dad figured that since it’s likely his last hunt, he’d have extra jerky made. It’s his favorite thing to eat. The look on the processors face when my dad told him to make half of it into jerky was priceless. 😂
