Yes Weather!!! Sure its hot here but at least we can drive 2-3 hours and be out of it. I have lived in other states where you couldn't plan anything more than a couple of days in advance because of weather. Huge weather changes in a matter of a day or two. It sucks, scraping windows for ice every morning. When I lived in Dallas, I left my truck in 4-high for 3 weeks because of the black ice. I'll take hot weather any day over cold. There is reason why AZ has so many transplants here and its not because of our sports teams. If AZ's summers were more mild then we would have 15 million people living here. Those 115 degree days are what keep the faint of heart away. I love it when we make national news for our heat. Bring it on!!

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with Quadra drive, 4 high and low and the 4.7 V8. Leather seats, Cold AC, car seat latches, tow package and clean AZ title. Currently has 144,953 miles on it and runs great. I bought it from the original owner in Scottsdale in Feb 2022 at 140k miles and since did a lot to it to make an excellent hunting rig. What I’ve done: New radiator and complete coolant flush, complete tranny flush and new shift solenoid, front and rear differential fluid service, new fuel pump, new spark plugs and idle air control valve, recharged AC coolant, IRO 3” lift and Bilstein 5100 shocks all around, Willy’s edition wheels and tires (90% tread), roof rack and and added a full sized spare tire. What it needs: Check engine light has been on since I bought it for the torque converter sensor (code P0740). I couldn’t care less if the torque converter was working so I never bothered. It’s 22 years old now so has plenty little trim pieces here and there that are loose. It has your standard Arizona pin striping. There is a slow battery draw on it and since it was just my hunting rig I just put a battery cutoff switch on it. This thing is just a lot of fun. It rides like a dream on those Bilsteins and has great clearance. I have done a good bit of hunting/camping out of it as you can lay down all the seats flat and close the door and still have room for a sleeping pad. To me, you get all the ability of a side by side, plus heating, cooling, and no dust which was what we wanted for our young kids. Also, at a fraction of the cost of a side by side. Only selling because we got something bigger for our growing family. Located in SE AZ $7800

Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm getting antsy already and have been reading through all the old elk threads. Hopefully, someday this will be me and my sons. I have one who's already big game hunting and another that will be eligible next year! Side note: Even as a non-drinker, I find your profile photo hilarious.

Man what a blessed week! To have the opportunity to go to desert. Have you guys seen the desert lately? So beautiful! Beautiful weather! And to have the ability to harvest a beautiful buck, man I'm...I have no words, I'm just so thankful! Then I go to one of the metro units and took a javalina with my bow! Wow! Happy Birthday to me I guess! Thank you Lord for the opportunity and the ability!

Man if it were a 20 ga or smaller I would be on my way up there. What a great deal on the Browning. For anyone interested, the superposed is a great shotgun, and this one is from 1974 made in Belgium.

I found this fascinating. I killed an old bull last year and couldn’t wait to find out what he got aged at. Turns out he was 14. https://azgfd-portal-wordpress-pantheon.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/25151324/2024-AZ-Elk-Harvest-Age-Results.pdf
