I didn’t watch because I knew it would make me cringe harder than a joe Biden commercial.

When I was old enough to be included on dad's big game hunts, he had a partner that often went. His name was Moe and he had some great hunting philosophy to lay down on an eager student like myself. I.E.; "Why lie in wait.... when you can wait and lie?" Moe was morbidly obese, old and bald with a voice like Winnie the Pooh. So I found it absurdly funny one night around the campfire. Everywhere he sat the smoke lofted into his face regardless of the azimuth he chose. He finally just accepted his fate, looked at me down his nose over his glasses and shrugged through the plume and said, "Damned smoke, why must it follow beauty?"

Went to New Mexico last weekend, and was fortunate to kill an average buck (Lance knows where... ). A trophy to me! My sons and I only hunted pronghorn for the first time just three years ago, and I was immediately impressed with the meat. Super delicious!! Anyway, I saw a post many years ago on that other site about pressure canning game pronghorn, and was intrigued enough to try it out. (Obviously it could be used with ANY meat, but I chose pronghorn.....). So it was basically super simple. I got some canning jars and stuffed them full of pronghorn scraps. Put a 1/2 bullion cube into the jar, and also a couple of spicy jalapeno slices in some of them. Pressure cooked according to instruction - 15psi for 90 minutes. It came out really awesome!! It's like pot roast in a jar! I'm assuming others are doing this??? Happy eating, all!!! S. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The boned & prepped meat. No, I did NOT use the back straps!! LOL LOL Those are amazing cooked rare in the cast iron skillet! Finished canned (bottled) meat. Tasty! So then I decided to experiment a bit. I used larger jars, and added carrots, celery, and onion (mirepoix), plus some new-potatos and a 1/2 bullion cube. Instant stew!!! Don't have the 'after' pic, but it's not much to look at anyway! LOL Suffice to say, tasted excellent!

I pulled the trigger and bought the new Mathews VXR 28. Got it today and I’m gettin ready for August. Took a lot of work, shoveling gravel and laying brick to get enough money for this bow. Hopefully I can get a buck in velvet this year.

I think a Bull of this caliber deserved more or any animal being harvested to have at least a follow up shot to finish it, I didn't finish the video for that reason. The commercial aspect sucks too and the hunter and everyone involved should go back to to Hunter Ed and retest I think it lacked a lot in ethics.

In my misplaced youth during campouts as a boy scout, our favorite prank for the newbie was to have him search through the gear to find the left-handed smoke shifter. Usually, it became, "I can't find it." We would then send him to ask other troops if we could borrow theirs.

Someone taught my kids to say “I hate rabbits” to shift the smoke...really funny when they say it around someone that hasn’t heard it before.

Why we continue to bash each other is beyond me. I'm happy that JJ continues to hunt even after all the Boycott efforts he has seen from the anti's. As of last year, he could care less if they step foot in another Jimmy Johns franchise as he's sold off his remaining stake. He continues to do what he always has and enjoys doing it. There is a larger number of influential people that would love to stop any and all hunting, I'll say it again, I'm glad he is on our side. Why bash the guy because he is overweight? He seems to have a great attitude towards life and shows respect for people. That's much more than what we see in the world today, especially from people with his clout.

For my back and fit, I'd put Kifaru, Stone Glacier, and Mystery Ranch above Kuiu for packs. Kuiu's zippers are weakish as well and their fabric is more prone to rip and tear. All of this is of course in my personal experience and I love Kuiu....

Outdoorsman I owned was very creaky.heck for stout but wasn't for me. If my torso could fit an x2 under a load I'd still own one. X2 is a super day pack, just the frame digs into my hips under a heavy load.

Those that know me that I am a TOTAL hack, and absolutely not a trophy hunter. I place a much greater value on relationships and experiences with those I care about over 'things' and/or 'trophies'..... That being said, in watching the video, it appears that JJ and everyone involved got the whole nine yards!! An amazing experience, great relationships/friends, and the big bull as the cherry on top! Good stuff! S.

I don't know how I missed this initial post. Great footage and editing. Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Nice to relive the hints with memories like these.

And see, I’ve never understood the concept of bringing the kitchen sink to glass for deer for a day or chase Bugling elk for a morning? I was thinking I need 2 packs maybe. If I get into some sort of back packing I have no idea what I need. I’ve never had a pack frame, I looked up the kifaru frame $350, then I get a pack that cost 350 to go on that? I don’t even know how this stuff works tbh
