This country has traded common sense for selfishness

nope. definitely not. G&F takes in SOOO much money and the only time anything productive happens is when one of the foundations (MDF, RMEF, AZDBS, WSF, etc) does it.

The ones who think that closing the forest does nothing, I believe there the same idiots we need to be protected from. There entitled to everything. I feel open the forest and shoot the people who start the fire in the face, no more lawyers and I'm sorry and fines Stupid people should breed, clean up the bean pool..

I have my Moments The point I am trying to make is that closing the forrest isnt going to help all that much for my reasons listed above.. ie highways and such. stupid/careless people are still going to be stupid/careless people, until society changes that which I dont think is going to happen too soon.

I retired my tinfoil hat a while ago. I really don't think closing the forest is going to prevent fires as dry as it is. The same jack@$$ type people that started the telegraph fire don't play by the rules, nothing will stop that unless limpness tests are given for licenses to recreate. It just blows that everyone(and the forests) has to suffer due to a few irresponsible people.

Stanley, I have a 11 year old boy and 12 year old girl with late bull tags as well. Some of my favorite spots are on 🔥🔥. I was just up there scouting 2 weeks ago and getting pretty excited. Let's pray for rain and we'll reassess when things settle down 😕

Are you talking about forests closing? You think they shouldn't close them? For me, I think they should use their 'expertise' (I know.... So called, expertise....) to close the forests when they think they need to for the greater good. If the indicators they watch/manage say they should close it, then I'm not going to argue with that. This time it of course seems to me like a no-brainer regarding closures. Regarding fees, I think I disagree with you there. But that is for a different thread, I suppose.

G&F took in 100 million more than their total operating costs last year. Where do ya’ll think this money is going to end up? Not in a water hole, that’s for sure.

Is there a place to volunteer to haul water for them or RMEF or some worth while organization? I can't go camping anymore this summer, so I might as well use my truck to haul some eater and do some good.

They also had to pay court fees to take a kid to the cleaners over some doves. That can be alot in attorney fees and other rewards to the people Says the guy that knows where every dollar spent by the g&f went. Lol

so the forrest are shut down. aside from lightning whats been the big cause of fires over the recent years. a good percentage of the fires started right along the highways... Trailer Chains, people tossing cigarettes out the window, car fires, etc etc. The closures isnt going to reduce fires that much. as you have people who have cabins in those areas still going to have lots of traffic on the roads with lots of potential. not to mention the resident crack heads and hippies who just dont care. and of coarse our very own road construction crews have caused fires. dont get me wrong fires are the worse they take away everything you own, sometimes those you love and having some idiot cause it sucks even worse.

Burning, burning, burning!! (I've got a late rifle bull tag up in that area.....) Regarding the elk hunting, I feel like at the end of the day the fires may not necessarily impact it too much at a macro level. There will be areas that will be 100% scorched, but hopefully some unburned pockets here and there as well. If we get decent rain this year, there just might be lots of yummy green stuff for the elk in those burned areas. S.
