We finally made it up last week for my boy’s elk hunt, and he made it count. His first shot was solid, clipping the heart. Earlier that day I’d told him if the elk was still on its feet after the first shot, don’t hesitate—put another one in her. After that first hit, without a word from me, he sent a second round into the lungs. As the cow turned and started to go down, he followed up with a third shot, again through the lungs. She dropped instantly, clean and quick. Hardly any meat damage, and we came away with just over 100 pounds of ground elk.

I saw that, I think we are still a 5-10 years away for common use, but it is coming. Be interesting to see the impact.... the anti SXS hunters are going to have a cow and those landowners in Montana, Wyoming, etc that block millions of acres of NF, will probably blow a gasket

When I talked with Game and Fish a week ago they said it was still up in the air with legal. It sounded like folks are already taking legal action.

No, theres definitely a bonus pass tag for hunts with 5 tags. I can see antelope hunts with 2 tags that have a bonus pass tag in the draw reports. Only ones that dont have a bonus pass tag are hunts with 1 tag in last year's report.
