This is big glass! You can look at some of the forums for people‘s opinion on this glass. It is excellent glass for a fraction of the big namebrand prices. no scratches or chips in the glass. Currently located in Maricopa. Sometimes travel to Tucson and Phoenix areas. Asking $675.00

I think it comes naturally at this point. He MUST comment on every post, except the ones asking people to share useful insight or kill photos.

Yes they are. Still kind of an under the radar brand. But high quality. They should work on their marketing in the US. It would help them a ton I think.

I accidentally clicked on a bull bison tag last fall just checking what hunts were being offered. Didn’t bother to call and try to change it as it was like 1:200 chance. Wouldn’t ya know I drew the dang thing. $5k mistake with NR tag fee 🤦🏻‍♂️

Coues tag started Dec 15 on Ft. Huachuca and I hadn’t had much time to hunt, so I broke away on 30th for a quick day trip. Hit the road at 3:30 AM, buck down by 8:30, and back home by noon. Glassed all morning, only picking up does and no sign of bucks. I was just about ready to pack up and move when I gave it one last look. Caught a flick of movement that gave him away. He was tucked in perfectly—never saw his head or antlers—but his body size told me he was a buck. He was about 400 yards out with no shot, so I ditched my gear and closed the distance to 225. At first I couldn’t find him and thought he might’ve slipped out, but after slowing down I picked up his legs in the same spot—standing now, still no shot. If he dipped, I was done. Instead, he turned in place and bedded back down, opening up a small 12-inch window through the brush. That was all I needed. He never made it out of his bed. Shout out to all the guys on here that gave me some knowledge and pointers! Thanks a ton! Tried adding more pics, but wouldn’t let me got some reason.

Yes, always worth applying. 80% of the tags are issued randomly to people with less than max. Five is enough to put you close to the bonus for some hunts. Here is my suggestion; pick a dream hunt for your first choice and apply because there is almost always a chance. For your second choice, pick a late hunt in a less popular unit that you are comfortable with OR look for a limited opp hunt with a higher success rate (some of those are actually pretty decent) in unit you would enjoy hunting.

We finally made it up last week for my boy’s elk hunt, and he made it count. His first shot was solid, clipping the heart. Earlier that day I’d told him if the elk was still on its feet after the first shot, don’t hesitate—put another one in her. After that first hit, without a word from me, he sent a second round into the lungs. As the cow turned and started to go down, he followed up with a third shot, again through the lungs. She dropped instantly, clean and quick. Hardly any meat damage, and we came away with just over 100 pounds of ground elk.

IMG_8192.mov IMG_8192.mov IMG_8192.mov I ran into a unique but not uncommon situation this year on my buddies wife’s 5B late rifle bull hunt. Opening morning we turned up 2 bulls first light at 1100 yards. Her effective range is about 600 yards so we needed to drop off the ridge and onto a spine between us and the elk. As we made our way there we heard a side by side coming in. I told my buddy to continue on and I would let them know what we were doing. It ended up being two guys from Washington, one with a tag. They too had seen the bulls and were in pursuit. I told them since two bulls were in there we should work together and we can make a final decision on shooter once in position. They were agreeable so we eased in. We got to 600 yards and had the biggest bull in plain site bedded. The other was bedded in thick junipers. My buddies wife had never killed a bull and neither had this gentleman. Despite my gut telling me “ladies first” I knew they had just as much right to the bulls as us, so we agreed to flip for it. Well, she lost. So we got her in position in the event the second bull popped out and helped him with distance, windage and execution. He made a perfect shot and the other bull slipped out just giving us brief glimpses but never long enough for a new hunter. It was disappointing and exciting all at once. Bull was a tank and scored 351”. Super solid dudes and even offered tons of assistance trying to help her connect over the next few days but she could never quite put it together. On day 2 I found her the bull of a lifetime, conservatively 370” and had her at 400 yards from him but she couldn’t get him in her scope in the thick cedars before he bedded. I had to go home but they saw him two more times and no shot! IMG_8192.mov I sure love mentoring new hunters but after killing lots of animals for 35 years it is easy to forget the newbie mistakes that occur over and over again that we made and is so glaring when someone else does it. Test of patience, kindness, and humility for sure! Here is the bull they killed 351” IMG_8201.mov My Movie 9.mov

You were pretty fair. I’d of sent her up the hill to get set while I tried to run them off the road 😂 And, to be honest, what most hunters would have done is made a stink about it and got on social media to complain about road hunters ruining everything. No animal is worth a bunch of drama. Hunting is supposed to be fun or a way to separate from our day to day. Not something to be even more stressful and dramatic.

I think you played it very fair. Lots of turds out there and just be glad you are not one of them.
