Good luck on your hunt. Here is a 23a bull from last year. Hopefully this will be a better year for growth.

CWT always delivers some good entertainment while I’m bored at work. This was one of the more entertaining threads in a while 😂 On a more serious note, two of my boys drew the 23 youth hunt in October. Absolutely pumped for them. Haven’t decided yet if I’m going to focus more on A or B

Having shot the 30-06 for 60 plus years what CJL above says. You will cripple the downrange ballistics with anything heavier than a 200gr. bullet and probably you're best off with 180 grainers. Personally I opted for the 168 grain class bullets with H4831SC. This powder is temp stable and with it I was able to push the 168's over 3k fps. My new 06 is a 9 twist barrel as I found the newer bullets are much longer. Remember you're stabilizing length not weight.

Just wanted to say thanks to @CopperStateDiesel (a/k/a Hunter) for his most excellent work he did for me last month. My '01 4Runner went into limp mode a couple times (a little un-nerving to say the least if you've never experienced it) a few weeks ago and I thought of Hunter since he'll come to me as driving my T4R more than a mile or two from the house was risky. He DX-ed the issue quickly, his prices are fair and his communication is top shelf and the problem is fixed. Eddie

I would stay 200 and under. The 200.20x is basically a smaller 215. Depending on your range requirement there probably is no need to go above a 180. If you are ever in Payson let me know, I have a mostly full box of 200.20x and 205 elites if you want to try them.

Jeff, I have three sets of Sako tapered dovetail ring mounts. Two are Warne high and one set Sako medium. All are one inch tube rings.

You may want to confirm you have the right type of vacuum breaker where the irrigation branches off the supply. Some are meant to function under constant pressure and some are not.

I know that’s where I’m gonna be. I’m already hauling alfalfa bales to the rez line to see if I can lure some of the big boys over. and get a cross bow. You can legit shoot one 250 yards, right out of the box.

215 Berger will stabilize in a 10 twist down to about 2500 fps depending on elevation and weather. If you don’t have a muzzle brake anything over 180gn will have some pretty heavy recoil.

im thinking if i can hunt right on the border of 4b and 23a I should be able to pull in a couple big power line bulls. i probably shouldn't be giving away all my plans online though.....

Back in the early 90's I loaded for my BIL's 06 with Win 760, 56grains IIRC. Might have been compressed but was very accurate, even in his hands. It was his Caribou load so I probably loaded 165gr Partitions. We put a lot of mud on our boots that year east of Nome. One shot was all he needed but it wasn't more than 100 or so yards. It isn't a finicky cartridge. Biggest challenge will be bullet choice so I would stick to a lead/core based bullet to stay within the 1:10 twist and the restraints of the magazine.

Just an update for CWT posterity. Below is what I ended up doing to replace the valve. The only water source lower than this supply valve was the irrigation system so I ran it for 3-5 minutes after I shut the water off. When I removed the plug to install the new valve, the water flowing from the pipe seemed to be less than before, but I had the new valve ready to go and installed it quickly to minimize the overflow. I also came up with what you see in the pic to control the flow of water to the towel. This all worked well and only a couple ounces of water overflowed until I got the new valve installed. Thanks to all who commented and reached out. Eddie

what ever bud. I didn't ask for hunting spots. I asked for tips and suggestions for places to start looking. This would include sites such as az game and fish, youtube, on x, etc. Have a nice life. If you got drawn, congrats, Enjoy your hunt. I know I will.

Well welcome to cwt, can't have thin skin here. The reason you are lucky enough to draw this tag it's because for the most part late rifle tags f****** suck. It's cold and miserable and the bulls are laying low, and if you find a good one he's probably broken from fighting. Maybe you will get snowed in and have to retrieve your camper in spring. That's a taste of how a late tag could go. All that said, the advice already given is as good as you are going to get. Don't look at this hunt as a trophy hunt. If you spend the amount of time before the hunt like was suggested and you can kill a decent bulll that is good for you otherwise just fill the tag. You basically have to put yourself in the position of these animals that have been hunted all season they are now looking to hide and recover. Where would you go? Now go hunt those spots.

SOLD I am selling off a few more of my guns. This is a very nice 410 in excellent condition. Here are some specs. Desirable 28 inch vent rim barrels with ejectors chocked modified and Full, chambers are 3 inch. 14” length of pull. I have shot only about 4 boxes of shells through it and used it for shooting dove. Never really carried since I was pass shooting. The wood and metal is almost perfect. I prefer to sell locally to a member. This avoids higher costs of taxes, auction fees, etc. $1275 picked up at my home in Eastside Tucson. I can happily ship to your FFL at my actual cost. I will respond in the order I receive PM’s or to the first person that posts here I will take it. Thanks Phil

I agree about religion and men turned it into a toxic state. That being said even Jesus was disgusted by what had been done by men and they perverted it into what you have seen throughout history. Jesus himself turned over the tables in the temple out of anger and called them a brood of vipers. My point is even Jesus himself seemed to be against organized religion simply because he saw how men misuse Gods word for their advantage and turn it into a tool for evil. My point is, you are right, but what you see is not what Jesus wanted. So don't blame Jesus and or God for what men have perverted. Follow Christ and his teachings, not men.
