I think her goal is to reign in spending. She has been on the scene for a long time but pretty low key. Mostly doing Social Work, which is fine. She's no spring chicken. She has supported LE and kept abortion accessible. I'm not a proponent but she's kinda middle of the road from what I've seen. Her term is up this year. It'll be interesting to see who comes out of the woodwork to make a run for Governor. She beat Lake, who has zero experience, across party lines. It was a shame that there wasn't a more credible candidate than Lake. Kinda a fruitloop. At least Hobbs didn't do a ton of damage.

The road is ok, the problem is the traffic. Just go around it's far safer and you don't beat the heck out of everything.

Last time I went I took my nephew we parked on the edge of a big flat and walked out to the edge of this prairie dog town sitting under a lone pine in the shade and we had killed a few and he was lining up a shot on another one and I was trying to record it on my phone attached to my binos and you can hear me in the video “hang on put the safety on and open your bolt what’s this idiot doing?” As a side by side comes into frame on the opposite side of the one we’re about to shoot at. (Nowhere near a road we had to walk about 3/4 mile to get to where we were) and then I see the gun come out the driver side window (video still running) I stand up yelling waving my arms and the bullet whizzes by I yell at my nephew to get behind the f***ing tree as he fires a few more. I went and confronted him mainly to get his license plate, g&f caught up to him later that day said his camp was trashed, trash blowing all over the woods they asked me if I wanted them to write tickets because he’s gonna know your the one that called I said write every one you can I don’t care. G&F officer told me “yeah he said he saw you guys but didn’t think you were in harms way” haven’t gave a crap about shooting one since. Video was on my old phone then I switched to apple or id try to post it somehow, don’t even know where that phone is nowadays

And to think, all you get down here is 1.5” ribeyes!!! Haha!!

Totally reminds me of the big gopher snake I ran across mountain biking just east of the Campbell Mesa trails back in May 2021. I was actually on my way to Campbell Mesa from Sandy Seep (Grandpa Eddy Trail?) and came across this one stretched across the trail. I didn't see it until it was too late. I got it with my front tire and hopped over it with my back tire. You can see the dirt mark mid-body from my tire. I stopped to get a pic, make sure it was ok, and move it off the trail. It was PISSED!! To be fair, I would be extremely upset, too, if I was minding my own business sunning myself and got ran over mid-body by some jackwagon!

We got a good soak down low yesterday afternoon and overnight last night. Clouds are lifting on the Peaks and snow levels look pretty low (well below 9k). Haven't seen snow level reports for up there yet, but I'm guessing the north side is going to have some snow in your area. Be safe if you're still going!

Last year I was looking for a pre-fit barrel for a Savage 110 300wsm for my son's rifle. Everything was several months out. Its probably easier to have a gunsmith cut a blank for you.

Axis Works or Phoenix custom rifles can do the job. Eric at Axis Works might have a lead time of a bit depending on work. Usually Keith is a week or two at Phoenix. I've used bolth on builds with great results

It was pretty nice at Knoll a few weeks ago. Headed up Thursday to Woods Canyon and it was busier than I would like so I made the further drive. Just me and my tent for a few days. Time well spent.

This was a couple days worth within a mile of our house and didn’t make a dent. We very rarely see javelina anymore and Muley numbers are down.

G&F figured out years ago their main source of income is not from the selling of tags but from the application fees, selling points and the selling of "opportunities". AZ just doesn't have the numbers of animals and habitat to support the dept and all their employees off tag and license sales alone. Hunters are still the milk cow for all big game and non-game species. I wish they could figure out a way for all the wolf, feral horse and feral burro lovers to buy a license every year along with some sort of application fees.

Every other president seemed to agree that Iran shouldn't have nukes but none of them was willing to actually do something about it at least Trump has balls big enough to make big moves like that and I think long-term it will be a good thing.
