Smoked this tri tip and seared it in beef tallow that I rendered from the fat from said tri tip. No money shot cuz it’s resting while I kill a pitcher down the street at the dive. And I made pickled red onions and homemade roasted salsa to go with it

The thought came across the mind this morning that it is about time to see the proposed hunts/permit numbers which the commission will approve at their April Meeting. Well, the email from AZGFD came this evening. https://azgfd-portal-wordpress-pantheon.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/27174631/AZ-Big-Game-Hunt-Recommendations-and-Notes-Fall-2025-Spring-2026-_-March-272025.pdf

We have a litter of Golden Retriever puppies almost ready for their new homes. Born 2/26. 5 females and 3 males available. They are healthy, happy and well socialized already. The dam is an extremely gentle and sweet companion that is regularly used in a therapy program. She is the best dog we have ever had. Her puppies are already showing many of the traits we love about her. The sire is a handsome, healthy and smart companion as well. Both parents are darker red color and are on site. Puppies will have first shots done and vet checks prior to going to their new homes. They have all gone through ENS -Early Neurological Stimulation and are EXTREMELY well adjusted puppies. Located in Wittmann, NW Valley. AKC Registered $1500 each. $500 deposit to reserve Ryan 602-228-1108

Pretty sure that’s Ben. Can’t remember his handle on here or if he’s here much anymore. @coatimundi01 I think…looks like he hasn’t been on here in a couple yrs.

If you can’t find any, check the shop next to Scottsdale gun club. I think it’s called NW Armory. They typically have them and reasonable prices.

I think demand has cooled across a lot of markets that use antlers. The dog chew market has so many people doing it that the prices are very competitive with not much margins anymore. I know a lot go to China and I wonder if the tariffs are going to slow their buying. I buy a couple hundred lbs every month for custom gun grips so I am looking forward an easing in prices.

Don’t feel too bad. I had the late muzzy hunt and it was very tough as well. I only saw 4 mature deer. Of the 4 only two were 4x4s. Open sights kept me from being able to get them across canyons. In the end, I harvested an old big fork on day 7. I couldn’t imagine how difficult it had to be fighting the crowds as well. I hope you get another crack at them though, it’s a gorgeous area!
