Hunted in NM for about a week. First two days were really good, then it slowed down. Finally had them talking on 7th morning. Called in 2 toms about 7:30. Hit the first one, then gun jammed. It really doesn't like those 3 1/2" shells. Picked shell up off ground and missed 2nd bird. Set back up and started calling again. Half an hour later called in another tom. He came in strutting, spitting and drumming. At 30yds I let him have it. Hunt over for the year. Now hopefully I can get one archery in AZ. Good luck everyone.

I'm not sure how it happened but the story ended up in another post. I blame TD for distracting me saying Turkeys are under small game -- SHAME! LOONNGGG Story

My 700 has always loved Barnes. When the X bullet came out I loaded up a bunch of 120's with about 69gr's of RL19. Shot a lot of game with that for 20 years before I used them up. It shoots most everything good, 1 in 9.25 24" barrel. Maybe 1992 or 3? First year they came out with a stainless/composite stock. Used the Factory Vortex 160gr ammo a while back that is about 1/2MOA and took a bull at just over 400 yards with power lines in the distance. I have some ADG cases just need to pick a bullet to work with H1000.

I just picked up two boxes myself . I came on CWT to post a link for the LRX from midway. My rifle loves the factory load. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1010404877?pid=203073

When I tested multiple handguns that I have had ported barrels on, they are usually around 60 ft/sec. Slower after being ported. The highest number I saw was 100 ft/sec as a loss. None significant enough to matter for a handgun and no accuracy loss either. Hope this helps, but interested to see what your before and after muzzle velocities are ?

Cooper Discovers AT3 from Discount on my Tundra and family Sequoia. I don't treat them nice and they have been a reliable and smooth all-terrain for several sets now.
