12s are clear enough to see pretty much everything you need. If you are really trying to judge a buck at 700+ yards I think you should use a spotter, even the 14s won't catch everything. I think 12s are the best all around. I don't own 14s but my friends do and I can glass everything they can or more. lol

I have the full size - and love it, they both work the same. I camped in the trees last week and had some obstructions but bought a longer cord and it worked out. At one time I had 27 devices connected and most kids and adults where on their phones, last week used 350 gigs of data since everyone was on it (I have unlimited). the days of telling stories are over, fact checking is easy LOL. People watched Netflix at night. Enabling wifi calling on phone allows phone calls anytime when in reach of the starlink router. I believe the mini uses less power - so that is a good thing - I have a Ecoflow battery pack 300W that give Starlink about 3 hrs of use before needing charge- the Ecoflow charges quickly (30 mins), I have a solar panel (100 W) and when the sun is out it keeps the Ecoflow charged. - Starlink pulls about 60 watts. My toyhauler has 2 deep cycle batteries and don't have an inverter and probably won't- bought a small gas generator for that can run for 10 hrs on 0.8 gallons of gas vs the on board Onan. If I had to do over, I would have bought a 600W or bigger Ecoflow. Get the roam plan and you can pause it when not needed and you don't get de prioritized.

I went with the Gen 2, 12’s for the same reason of having 1 set to carry. They are great free hand or on the tripod. The only obvious difference of course with the magnification is that at the farther distance, you might not see the cheater on a good buck. Otherwise it’s a win/win against the 14’s for me. You’ll know if it’s a good buck or an average buck very quickly. They will absolutely turn up deer in most conditions that the 14’s will. These things aren’t the 12’s your Dad had 😄

I would assume these are for mule deer. I'm sure that there are a bunch of mule deer utilizing these habitats with the ongoing droughts..... I don't really keep tabs on mule deer populations in the unit, I'm more of a coues guy, the coues population is not very high compared to other units.

I have a mini at my well house to run a security cam. I will take it hunting this fall, So far I've been very happy with it. Easy to set up and use with decent speeds

And I read that you prostaff for Savage, so at least budget mentor anyway
