Gallego and Kelly are going to vote against this no matter what. They aren’t going to hand Trump a landmark piece of legislation like the BBB. If this stays in the senate bill and passes reconciliation it goes back to the house. After contacting senators, next step is house reps. Stanton is my rep he isn’t voting for this either. The approach I have taken is to post in every public place I can think of that this is unacceptable. That if republicans force this through reconciliation, it’s the nail in the coffin for the GOP in AZ. They’ve already lost so much support in the state that pissing off a huge portion of your base will be enough to suck all the momentum out of their sails and solidify the democrats stronghold. We need to put pressure on republicans to push back on this.

Also on a state level, Robson wants to run for governer. She is a real estate developer probably licking her chops after our state trust lands. Just thinking..

https://www.outdoorlife.com/conservation/public-land-sell-off-senate/ Look I hate discussing politics, but if you are a hunter in AZ you need to call your congressman NOW. The above article includes an interactive map that shows which BLM and Forest Service lands would be up for sale. Big impacts in many units, including Unit 5, 6, 21, 22, basically too many to list. Just look at the map. "Anybody who supports this in the Senate that has any inkling that this is a good idea, they need to get their butt kicked" - Land Tawney from American Hunters & Anglers I recommend calling your Senators if you hunt in Arizona, EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN ARIZONA. True, but its similar to rifle antelope. Its not hard to find them, it's hard to find a specific one or one that meets your criteria.

Why hire help on a sheep hunt? The only hard thing is if you are chasing a score. There are plenty of guys that will go on sheep hunts for free. Finding them is not hard... If you HAVE to have, say, a 170", then sure, hire someone that won't tell you a 165" is a 170". I feel like some guys put too much emphasis on score, when it comes to getting a once in a lifetime sheep tag. Find "the look" you like. Spend as much time scouting as you can to understand the class of rams in your area. Enjoy the hunt and don't put any extra stress on yourself because it's " once in a lifetime." There's a reason the success rates are damnn near 100%.

Here is what I came up with some help from chatGpt: Dear Senator Kelly, As a proud Arizona native, lifelong outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, and conservationist, I am writing to urge you to remove the public land sale provision currently included in the Big Beautiful Bill. The sale of public lands in the 11 Western states would have a devastating and irreversible impact. These lands are not just scenery — they are our heritage, our refuge, and the backbone of countless traditions, livelihoods, and ecosystems. Selling them off to the highest bidder, regardless of the intended use, opens the door to development that will erase these landscapes forever. Once sold and developed, they are lost — not just to Arizonans, but to all Americans. This land is not surplus. It’s the essence of the American West — the very thing that sets our nation apart from the rest of the world. Our vast, open, and shared landscapes are a legacy to be protected, not privatized. I voted for President Trump and support much of the administration's work. However, the inclusion of this public land sale is a non-negotiable deal breaker for me and many others who value our public lands. This issue transcends party lines — it’s about preserving what is uniquely and irreplaceably American. Please stand with the millions of us who depend on, respect, and cherish these lands. I strongly urge you to negotiate for the removal of the public land sale provision from the bill. Sincerely,

Mike Lee R-UT, by way of Trump's Big Beautiful Bill. The best way to kill it will be to make sure that the BBB can't pass with it in there. Montana already negotiated an exclusion from federal land sales in this bill so their senators will vote for sales elsewhere, but not at home. What a crock. We need to make sure that Trump and any republican with an aspiration for something higher knows we will not let this stand. That if they ever want a vote from a hunter, they better take this out. I mean, they could propose to develop Mount Graham. What a crock.

The map in the link sucks. Is there another one? Never trust a politician, even if he claims not to be one.

Unbelievable. All of the Usery mountains. The entire lower salt recreation area. Huge portions of the rim above pine, strawberry and Christopher creek. Huge piece of the Tonto NF West of the 87. All so they can roll up a few bucks into the national budget and spend it in one year. Unbelievable. Now would be a great time to contact every legislator you know.
