Anyone going to be there tomorrow morning and afternoon? I'm going up? Should be on the water around 5:30 AM. If You're going to be there . Say Hi if You see Me. I will be alone. And in a 12' Lowe's flat bottom boat. Painted Camo. Look for a old ugly Redneck in a camouflage boat. And You found Me. Good luck to everyone fishing.

I’m sure that $3k crossbow will still function just as well going forward in the general season going as it did previously in the archery season…. Don’t even need to see an MD any more for a Dr note to use the crossbow during the general season. Seems like they did all crossbow hunters a favor and finally placed them in their correct season.

I purchased this cooler last year for our Elk hunt and all it had in it was ICE. We did not kill an elk and I have no use for it sitting in the garage. I have 3 other coolers and this one has to go. They are priced from $669 - $749 plus tax. The cheapest I found it was for $599 plus tax and shipping from a sight that I don't think was trust worthy. Asking $550 . I believe the color is Lunar Green. ( I don't want any trades sorry ). I can take off stickers if you like... https://grizzlycoolers.com/collections/coolers/products/grizzly-165

So by now a bunch of us should have received an email from our wonderful new political party known as the AZG&F department. They have decided by nature of a vote (not by us the overpaying hunters) to rescind all crossbow licenses as of June 30th 2026. Thank you AZG&F for convincing me to continue to hunt even though as a veteran i had become more and more disabled and couldn't safely or painlessly draw a compound bow any longer. So I invested almost $3K in a crossbow and applicable accessories and now they are of no use to me because of money and political pogues. dang shame but typical anymore of our government!

Sounds like you didn’t really need it if you can’t get recertified. But you conveniently left that part out of your rant….

My favorite thing to hunt. Maybe because of the fun times with good friends making memories. We were able to hunt a dairy for about five years and each year a new face would join the group. Once nice thing about the dairy were all the Euraisans. One year a buddy shot 100 in a day, before noon with a little unsoliceted prodding. Never did a pate. Usually make them into taco's or poppers. A friend makes them into jerky which is really really good.

Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself as a new member. I was turned on to this site by a friend who thought it would help me get more info on hunting. I have decades of firearm experience but never really used them for hunting (mostly target practice and R&D). I love the Outdoors though, and enjoy trail running, hiking, rock climbing, Fishing, Camping, Shooting (of course), survivalism, etc. I own a local Business too, Camel Transport Company (CamelTC.com) and Camel Firewood (Camelfirewood.com). We do Moving, Deliveries, LTL, last mile, etc during the summer and Firewood down in Quartzsite during the winter. Thank you in advance and I hope to bring as well as gain info to become wiser in my hunting and outdoor skills!

Glassed across bay. Saw a few bears feeding. Finally found one who looked big Decided he needed a closer look than ¾ mile. Had good wind. Took the boat over. Tied up to some rocks, sneaked down the beach 200 yards to where this toad was feeding on herring roe. Watched him for 20 minutes. Decided i was going to pass. As we started to back out he saw us. He climbed up on the bluff parallel with the beach. Knowing that he was going to try and flank us we headed for boat. He peeked over the edge a couple of times. We came to the creek where we beached the boat and he had a steep trail off the bluff. He stood up and looked at me, pinned his ears back and started down towards me. He was maybe 20 yards. I shouldered and fired. The shot set him back. He retreated and i hit him again. He tried to get down in another spot but it was shear and rocky so he faded into the alders of sight, in the bluff. Went up and found blood. Took 20 minutes to sort the trail out. Went into the alder thicket slowly. After 15 minutes and 20 yards i saw him and made straight to him. Second charge but i hit him immediately. He then turned and went away. dang these things are tough. I circled and got above him and put another one in him. I then closed in and finished him with my 10mm. 2 partitions exited, 2 stayed in, trapped by the skin from exiting. 10mm bullet penetrated 40+ inches. He died in a devils club thicket amidst the alders. Took 6 hours to skin in the tight quarters. The hide was wet and muddy and weighed 180 pounds. 2 of us carried it the 200 yards to the beach. Loaded the boat and headed to camp. Tough, grueling day. One of the shots hit the front of his lower jaw and took out a few teeth. Kinda bummed about that. Took him to town and had him sealed. 9' 6", 28 ⁵/16.
