Here is a quick summary, a few eco-litigation organizations (center for biological diversity, Grand Canyon wolf lovers, blah blah blah) sued to try and change the rules for wolf management in AZ and NM that would have made it much tougher to delist and impose more restrictions / protections that supposedly benefit the wolves. The court ruled in favor of the states and did not change the rules / laws increase protections. This is a good thing.

Hunters are being eliminated, little by little, and your Arizona Game and Fish Department is assisting in our demise. They have already done such a fabulous job with the management of Burros and Horses and let's not forget the ATV/UTV disaster. I have lived here for 58 years, and I cannot believe the direction they have gone. They follow the funding first. All the money we put in for special drawing to help wildlife, does that even seem relevant now? They used our funds against us-seriously!! To think that Arizona Game and Fish Department actually cross-motioned for summary judgment. Law enforcement is not GAME MANAGEMENT. heck, when the last time you saw an officer in the field. In most cases they are the endangered species, just like your WILDLIFE. This is just my opinion, I am very curious of true hunters opinions. I will not comment any more, it will just piss me off more than I already am

Take it to one of the resale junk shops in Heber. I was blown away by the prices on old mounts getting bought up by the migrant home buyers from out of state wanting to decorate their “ mountain cabin” .. the wife drug me into some ….suggested I sell a few of mine… nauseating as most of the buyers wouldn’t think of hunting an animal in their new REI and Northface clothes

I'm saving the last elk spot in my house for a giant and elk tacos are a main stay most of the year for dinner. Lately, I've been enjoying using limited range stuff. My nephew has been giving me some abuse, so I may switch it up and trophy hunter otc.

I thought the $400 was pretty explanatory

Truth! I've been more interested in playing with different weapons on otc hunts than trophys. I have 3 bulls(6 point or better) right now, that I don't even display. Once they grow horns again, I may switch it up and try for a big one.

Nah, I’d rather go fishing than on a poverty elk hunt.

I miss it when it how it was before the steps like it is now. As kids we would slide down that thing all summer long.

The jig is up on that. My Tahoe was registered in Alpine. Luckily, I ended up selling it to my father-in-law. DPS came looking to make sure it was there.

Wife finally drew a unit 10 early rifle bull tag after 18yrs. If you have had this tag in the last few years and are willing I’d like to hear how the hunt went. Thx

God continues to bless me, and today was no different! Unit 34a was scheduled to close today at sundown, so I headed down for the final day in hopes of killing a big ole bruin, but just happy to be outdoors! I had never killed a bear with a rifle (3 with bow and one with handgun) so I decided to take the old 30/30 lever action out for a try. This big ole bruin walked out right before sunset and presented himself at 42 yds. 1 shot from the old lever action and he tumbled into the gulch below, but he wasn't done as he reared up and began to come straight for my tree stand! 2 quick shots put a end to that and then the work begun! this bear stood nearly 4ft high as he walked in, a monster of a bear ( maybe some Mexican Griz DNA in him). I was a little nervous as I walked up to him, because he was so big! The pack out sucked! I hurt everywhere now! We green scored the skull at 20.5" tonight! Amazing day for a last day of the hunt! I think I'm done bear hunting! Too old for this stuff! lol. Truly Blessed!

Anyone interested in giving our dog copper a new home? Hes 6 as of 2/14/25. He’s done some light search and rescue work in the past. He could likely be trained for blood trailing relatively easy. He is a resource guarder (good aggressive) so he has to be fed in a kennel or room and left alone. This is not a good mix with a toddler in the house so to avoid any accidents I’m looking to find him a new home. He’d be best as an only dog PM if interested please. He is very well trained. He knows stay and all basic commands. Listens very well when told no. He is e-collar trained so you can call him to you with a “beep” (noise) on his collar.
