https://www.outdoorlife.com/conservation/public-land-sell-off-senate/ Look I hate discussing politics, but if you are a hunter in AZ you need to call your congressman NOW. The above article includes an interactive map that shows which BLM and Forest Service lands would be up for sale. Big impacts in many units, including Unit 5, 6, 21, 22, basically too many to list. Just look at the map. "Anybody who supports this in the Senate that has any inkling that this is a good idea, they need to get their butt kicked" - Land Tawney from American Hunters & Anglers I recommend calling your Senators if you hunt in Arizona, EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN ARIZONA. Because they want it to be done by a specific kind of doctor. But I don’t think this group of people know what doctors could diagnose these kinds of conditions nor do I think the dept wants to be in the middle of lawsuits about requiring people with disabilities to visit doctors they would not need to visit otherwise for a signature for something that has nothing to do with their area of specialty. For instance, someone with a neurological condition may meet all of the other requirements but not be treated by an orthopedic surgeon, because their condition is primarily related to the nervous system. Under this proposal that person would need to visit a specialist who knows nothing about their condition, potentially obtaining a referral to do so (which would require another office visit and associated cost), providing medical history, and then helping them understand the process designated by AZGFD. Seems like an awful lot of burden to heap onto people who already have to deal with a lot just to prevent a few people from maintaining their CHAMP permit because they aren’t disabled enough. This whole thing just wreaks of jealousy and self-preservation.

Not sure the left can be blamed for this one. Democrats have been instrumental in getting done the purchase of several ranches here in so Az for preservation and making sure sportsmen have access to these lands. 2 of them in the Whetstones. Not sure why they marked the area on the west side of the Whetstones and claiming affordable housing. It’s laughable because it’s the most rugged and remote part of this range and there are two developments on the north side that one can’t even get out of the ground after a dozen years and the other started breaking ground in 2001 and is at best only 50% sold and built out

The left? Who is pushing the bill? I can see a rich powerful developer want some of this.

Most importantly though, why would we make life harder for people who already have a harder life. So compound Bowhunters can hunt whatever unit they want? No thanks. I’d rather a few people abuse the privilege than make life tougher than needed for those who actually have a problem. If that impacts my opportunity, I can live with that.

Mike Lee R-UT, by way of Trump's Big Beautiful Bill. The best way to kill it will be to make sure that the BBB can't pass with it in there. Montana already negotiated an exclusion from federal land sales in this bill so their senators will vote for sales elsewhere, but not at home. What a crock. We need to make sure that Trump and any republican with an aspiration for something higher knows we will not let this stand. That if they ever want a vote from a hunter, they better take this out. I mean, they could propose to develop Mount Graham. What a crock.
