Sharing this info where I can. One of my Facebook groups posted this dog was found out in the woods around Unit 17A. If the dog looks familiar let me know and I can direct you to the folks who found it.

80 late Dec coues tags with 10 any antler muzzy tags so 90 total for the late hunt. You have to sign in every day to the area you want to hunt and they only allow a certain amount of hunters in each area. Some areas only allow as little as 2 hunters at any given time. Majority of the areas allow anywhere from 3-5 hunters. The good/popular areas fill up fast so you gotta be quick to sign in.

Agreed. Been saying it for over a decade. People who violate wildlife laws should be banned from the forest in addition to fines and losing their hunting rights.

Does the late Dec hunt have a lot of tags? I figured it would be minimal.

Its a very high pressure hunt. You will most likely encounter a lot of very frustrating human behavior that will make your hunt hard. There are also a lot of extra rules that make it more complicated than hunting off post. In the past few years Ft. Huachcua deer hunts have become much harder than they used to be. That being said success is still possible and there are a lot of good bucks on post. There is no where on Fort Huachuca that coues deer don't live. Scout people not deer. Figure out where hunters aren't going and hunt there. Be fluid with your plans because what ever plan you make will probably be ruined by somebody doing something stupid. Ive had a lot of success on Fort Huachuca in the past. Being out when nobody else is was always the key to tagging out for me. Bad weather days are great. If you play it right and find yourself out there on a day with low hunting pressure you've got a good chance of seeing some awesome deer. Get the Avenza App and map. If you bow hunt try the early archery hunt sometime.

Grilled a burger, onions, double cheese, few fat slabs of bacon and bbq sauce with broccolini and garlic, sweet potatoe and some avacado!

Woke up a little early. Had the desire for a decadent dish. Loco Moco, classic Hawaii dish with wite rice topped with a 1/2 lb burger with a rich thick brown gravy with mushrooms and onions, topped with an egg and green onions!

Lunch today. Pan seared panko cilantro encrusted bluefin tuna with sesame oil, shichimi togarashi, miso furikake and toasted sesame seeds over steamed rice and green onions. Fish I caught off San Diego.

So after a month between when we found the bull and when I went back in and got a look . He had been cleaned up by the scavengers . Not much left of him at all . I did recover the head and give it my best at a euro . I do think it came out good but it's definitely not something I would do again. It's a chore and it's better for me to just pay to have it done . What do you think?
