Wanted to share a short video I just put together of our 2024 hunts. Not much to it...5 kills and a couple missed shots. I'm still getting over the miss on that last buck. Missing a buck like that will give a hunter nightmares for the rest of their life. I'm just glad it wasn't me doing the missing for once š
Not sure about the other places, but I know the circle K no longer sales the permits.
When I drew the SC spring turkey tag on the 2nd pass the email said I had just a few days to pay. I clicked on every button looking for where and how to pay. It was very confusing and probably took me 15-20 minutes before I figured it out. The SC online draw system makes AZGF draw system look like it's state of the art IMO. Again, I am very appreciative of SC for allowing non-members to hunt and recreate there but their communication systems are terrible.
Sprained ankle has me off my normal running routine. Blasted out 30 minutes of rowing today.
Been on a steady routine of 30-45 minutes, which I have to say, 45 min is a LONG time to row.
Should be able to draw that 90 lb bow this summer though!
Made elk sliders last night. Had all the fixins, grilled onions, pickled onions green chilis, jalapeƱos, American cheese, Swiss cheese, provolone cheese, bacon, bacon jam, mustard, whatever you wanted. brioche rolls.
Had a flock this a.m. strutting their stuff and a few gobbles. Pretty flippen early this year. Supposed to get some moisture this week, I sure hope so!! Good luck to you tag holders!
Gents, tags are out and time to get moving šŖ!!! Iām 48 and 6ā0ā 212 lbs currently sitting at 14% body fat. This is my winter post hunting season sweet spot. Donāt have to be ridiculous with food scrubbing but I do stay within reason and work out 4-6 times a week. I always try to put on some muscle mass during that time.
This is time of year I like to get serious. Set macro goals, lift heavy and often, prioritize leg training, and drop about 6-8 lbs to get to 10-11 % Body fat. I do limited cardio as I feel weight training keeps that in line. Only cardio I do is stair climber primarily so I can still eat more and drop fat.
I see many of my overweight, out of shape peers at my age complaining about knees, backs, trouble sleeping, etc! They choose their activities based on their condition and miss so many awesome opportunitiesā¦sad.
I feel grateful to have awesome mentors that push me and motivate me as I am just your average guy. Our circle definitely defines us for sure! Have a killer week allā¦itās almost time to scoop some sheds ššš
I was on the fence a long time. Mostly against getting one. Then I bought my first one and after shooting it one time I ordered the 2nd one that night.
I will never not use a suppressor again.
I donāt have the numbers in front of me but my 6.5 chronoād within about 20-30 fps compared to chrono with a brake. Slower with the can if I remember correctly but not significant.
With as little as you are shooting right now, I would probably hold off. There might be some big changes coming down the road regarding GOP/Trump full court press on the ATF and gun rights in general. It's possible we may see suppressors completely removed from the NFA in a year or two. That will save you $200 right there. Additionally, if suppressors are removed more will want to get in the game and w/o regulation, we may see a corresponding drop in prices.
AJ wanted to walk up the hill through the thorns to go see his elk .
enjoying the afternoon waiting for Chris and My dad to get back with the side by side so we could winch him down the hill
AJ made it to his elk. A respectable 6x5
Throw it inside a big duffle bag. That's how I flew my 5200 to Kodiak Island. You can also stuff a lot of clothes and things inside the duffle bag around it. Actually, all 6 of us on the trip did the same thing without issue.
