The morning was slow or nonexistent. I grabbed a quick snack and managed to hit eight between nine and 10. my new pup did good on the first couple, but by time they started to fly she was so tired she laid up

I was up at 5bs close to the 5bn border. saw this bull (and a few others I didn't get pics of). lots of mud on the forest roads, got my camper stuck going in. PITA getting it out. only saw one muley in the 3days I was there. Did see my first lion about 250 yds away while glassing from my camper. I have a lion tag as well, tried to creep over to the truck to get out my rifle, but as soon as I grabbed the door handle he bolted. sorry no pics. made me think about him the next morning about 430am getting ready to head out. regards goma

Was out dove hunting today and saw this guy just outside flagstaff. I am thinking a prarie rattlesnake or a hopi rattlesnake but not sure.

The office is a mess. The people are awesome. Dan is awesome and full of excellent invaluable option, can't say enough good stuff about that guy. I've had all kinds of problems with the office. A few years ago it wasn't this bad. On the bright side, if you are persistent, and really want a tag, you will get one, and the people that can't handle the crap to go through to get one will give up. More good quality better hunting and less hunters to compete with. It's actually a good thing. It's really tough to get a tag though, I've had to drive down there a few times and its an hour and a half from my house, just to speak to a human and get a tag. But, it's worth it, you just have to figure out how to set the time aside to go drive down there which is difficult in today's time sucking away age. Once you deal with a human down there and tell them the problem, they'll usually go out of their way to help you. Over phone or email, forget it. The website is usable now, but you do have to figure it out.

Thanks for the information, Dan. While I appreciate the opportunities SCAT provides to non-members their communication services are terrible IMO. It took me 3 weeks to get someone on the phone to ask a question on the spring turkey draw. The website is outdated and not accurate as it has all last year's information. Even the new online lottery system did not offer dates of the hunts and the number of tags being offered for each hunt. It's hard to put in for time off when there are no dates of hunts. Thanks for sharing your contact information. I may reach out to you if I have other questions. John

Early October, he ran across the road and up the tree. Not as big as he looks, think the tree is pushing all the jelly outward and just has a thick coat. DAN

Hey Nick, I have a cabin in 5a and know it really well. I will be up there most of November hunting late archery bulls and helping on a bunch of hunts including late rifle 5a and 5bs. 5a is loaded with bulls and you’ll be just fine. Shoot me a PM and I will offer a bit of advise I think will pay dividends. Mark
