Mom is home, Hallelujah! God Bless each and everyone who prayed for us or otherwise sent positive energy our way! I can't thank you enough.

*UPDATE* Rifle was found earlier this afternoon. Glad this was resolved quickly for a non-resident hunter.

Here's my 2020 37a desert. Using the fish and game numbers, he nets 176" with my math. Using the fish and game's math, 174 1/2" 😳. The fractions were not added up right for the gross score and the deductions where done wrong. Will have him officially scored after the sixty days. He was aged at 11 to 12 years old. The class of sheep I have always wanted to harvest. It was a awesome hunt. And getting to experience it with family made it even better. I have been trying to draw a sheep tag for years and I honestly wasn't sure it was ever going to happen. Many thanks to the fish and game and all the people that keep our Arizona sheep alive. I spent almost four months scouting for this hunt and can see how people can get addicted to sheep hunting.

I’m glad you’re doing it the way you’re doing it I suppose, but not all the outfitters guide hunters the way you say you do things. I really don’t mind the guides out there one on one with a client, but when they have an entourage that rappers would be jealous of, that’s a little ridiculous. I’m sorry you took offense to what I said but I still stand by what I believe since I’ve seen it happen. I wouldn’t consider myself misinformed as I’ve witnessed it numerous times with my own eyes. I used to have places in the southern units where I’ve never seen another person up until about two years ago, fast forward to the present day, and now those areas are completely flooded with guides (Insert Outfitter Name Here) and their cameras, I’ll let you figure out which ones. Everyone competing for the biggest baddest animals to post up on social media for the comments/likes/virtual pats on the back, outfitters trying to get the clientele with watermarks on every picture, it’s all become just short of a big azz animal prostitution ring.

Burmuda shorts, Polo shirt and Berkenstocks for checking your cams. Probably wouldn't hurt to drive a Subaru too.

Two questions to anyone that watched the hearing. One did g&f give a reason and secondly did Russ cry again?

Wait! does anyone actually have a trail cam pic of a game and fish warden in the field??? I have a feeling that is more rare than getting a sasquatch on a trail cam! if any one has a trail cam pic of a warden, please post it!

Sounds like a good way to get a warden shot ! I’m telling you they can’t take Joe wildlife watchers cameras ! A warden taking Joe wildlife watchers cam is no different than bc777 going out and stealing cams . I pray to the lord a warden never touches my cameras !

I'm surprised there hasn't been more mention of a 6.5 Creedmor. Don't let this happen to you!

So as long as we are courteous and don't check cams early in the day we can put as many cams out as we want and it makes no difference? This is exactly why they are going to pass the camera ban. Guides have no clue that they are ruining it for the rest of us.

So all the time and money invested in the training ,the skills and the knowledge involved in having game wardens in the field. Their time will be spent chasing down and findng hunters and guides and charge them with a crime for taking pictures of animals. Think about it ! Like there isn't more important issues! What a waste of valuable manpower.

It will pass and AZGFD will legally be able to run cameras as part of their official duties. They fly planes and helicopters during hunts for survey purposes, they use bait to trap turkeys for translocations, ect. ect.

You sir are an uninformed wanna be that has exactly no knowledge about guides or what we do. Your jealousy based byass wreaks right along with your loser hunting skills. Individuals with Trail cams out numbered guides cams 5 to 1 were I hunted this year in one of the Top units! Guys like you are the computer blowhards that dont get off there fat behinds and do the work but think they know something!

Well as for an Army of Guides that happens for sure. Myself I am an Army of One Guide. I do all my own work although I work with an outfitter. Im not interested in the money I have a good Business. But I do like to at least get the return costs on my gas , scouting and expenses. I used to pay it all out of my own pocket and helped many people . There are many on this site here I have help and or been in the field with on my dime. I found guiding gets me out more often in units I love to hunt. So too sum it up I run a non- profit Guide organization and I love it!! Sorry your so misinformed! 😁

Now that the 6.5 is crazy popular ammo manufacturers have really made it an all around caliber. That puts it right next to the 7-08 which is a great all around caliber. You can go from 130 to 147 grain bullets and the 147 match that hornady makes are great performers. Last 2 hunts we were on the 147 put an almost 2" exit hole on my daughter's muley. My sons cow had a nice entrance and we could feel the bullet under the hide on the opposite side. That means it spent all of its energy in the boiler room where You want it. She probably went less the 20 yards. Your size frame I would recommend the 6.5. And as far as the best value for the money spent there's probably not a better shooting 6.5 then the ruger American predator. It's gonna be the best in its class for value and comes pre threaded for a brake or silencer. If you must have a heavier caliber my next favorite would be a 7 mag.

They are great rifles. I had all of my firsts with my dad’s 722 Roberts. I can still remember my first Coyote. Whenever we would go out hunting/ shooting my dad would tell me which guns to load up in the truck. ā€œGrab the Robertsā€ he would say. That’s what we called it back then. I still have it. I watched him make incredible shots with it too at things like running coyotes and rabbits. It was also the first thing I used to shoot long range. Back then, 500 yards was really far. But it was capable.

I don’t post often, and usually side with the ā€œwe don’t need any more regulationā€ side of the house. That said, there are some problems with game cameras. If you have ever been on a hunt in a trophy unit, where there are multiple guide services representing clients, it really sucks. There are 15+ cameras on every water source, the guides then send in large groups of people to check all of the cameras early each morning, then they radio the team to head where the big bucks were last seen, then they post glassers on every hilltop for a couple of miles from that mornings pictures. It makes it very difficult for a do it yourself hunter. I have no idea how to fix that, and don’t like regulation, but seeing that firsthand was the first time I thought that something needed to be done.

You must not run many cameras . We have had a lot of them on our cams . A picture of a warden is like a picture of a cow elk not that exciting why would anybody keep them ?

That’s another thing I forgot to mention about how it was 30 years ago. Back then, ranchers near my town NEVER locked up anything. Maybe a few gates like ones with access in the city limits. I remember it well because it was my job as a passenger to open the gates. But now all of them have it locked up tighter than a drum. You’re right, it’s because there’s no respect anymore.

Lathrope and sons or whites boots would be my choice. I had whites as my last pair but walking most warm pack boots is rough.
