Agree with all day long, but on my hunt I was able to pattern them pretty well to about a 4-hr window when they were consistently hitting the one water hole I focused on. Outside of that window of time I had a great time trying to tag out spot and stalk. I'm sure there were other antelope hitting the water at other times, but I had several shot opportunities and killed mine during that time window. I gave another hunter my info after tagging out and he killed a buck off the same tank during the same time window. I'm no expert, but this was my experience and had more than one person advise trying to pattern them on the water holes.

This is a catch and release for me. I purchased it over the summer thinking I would build something out of it. It will be years before I get to that, however. Browning safari (Sako L579 action) chambered in 243 Win. 24" heavyish barrel (.670" Muzzle dia) 1-10 twist. It is sitting in a Mcmillan Stock. Doesn't look to have been bedded. Weighs a little over 9lbs as pictured. Previous owner said that it shot 70gr Sierras very well. Very good condition. Bore looks great. There is some surface on the right side of the barrel. $900 Picked up in Catalina, North of Tucson or $975 for the rifle shipped to your FFL.

I'll be turning in my 4b general bull tag if that gives anyone hope. My oldest son (33) got 3a3c general bull and my youngest son (28) drew 6a general bull. My youngest doesn't have PG . Dam kids.

Yep. 2001. And I have a gun tag this year. Big arse country, goats are spread out. Fredonia or Colorado City are the closest towns, and Fredonia is gonna have a lot more to offer which isn’t saying much. Kanab for anything major . It was dry AF in 2001, I had dust in my truck till the day I sold it. Trees are rare , so bring your own shade. It will be hot…. 2001 cell service didn t exist, not sure now 25 years later. Make sure your rig is in top shape, cause I went three days without seeing anyone else… not much traffic up there. Break down, it may be a while. Maybe a rancher coming thru. not trying to discourage you, just make sure you’re prepared…. Heck, for all I know in 25 years there’s housing on the north side. I’ll find out myself this summer.

Thats in no man's land. I have a friend that has had the general hunt a few times. Bring all the supplies you can. Also he ran into a ton, and I mean a ton of rattlers. Said he had a fun time chasing them around. Good luck and report back.

We're going to need to see pictures of the blood and also the broken leg in order to dismiss this logically....

You’re really trying to go high horse after just telling how you knowingly killed a bull and didn’t recover it because you couldn’t walk? I would say “most” would have either got help, killed a bull in an accessible spot, or better yet both.

Somehow with only 6 bonus points, I drew an early rifle bull tag in Unit 9. I figured I would be hunting antelope in Wyoming this fall, so I only put in for the long-shot early bull hunt in 9. Guess I should have bought a lottery ticket too.

I was pretty excited when I saw that $135 charge as I knew I had only applied for hunt #3004. Wyoming antelope will have to wait until next year. Now to work up some new handloads for the 30-06 and 300 WSM. Will try some Hammer Hunters and Terminal Ascents. I used the Hammer Hunters out of my 6.5 WSM on the last two cow elk tags. Already have 180 grain Nosler Accubond and Swift Scirocco loads for the 300 WSM, but tis fun to experiment with different bullets.

Agree on the top photo. Pretty sure 2nd and 3rd is a Jr. Vintage, like late '60s, early '70s. Should still be useable however.
