Here we go!! Let the drama begin! This is why I don’t post often because of guys like you who surround themselves in the drama! Do you know how my hunt went?? Or do you even know me?? NO! Jason B is a buddy of mine and we’ve known each other for close to 15 years. Yes of course he helped me. I made 1 scouting trip with him and checked cameras and learned a little about the unit in a day and half. We talked about options and where we thought would be good spots to start the hunt. He and I have talked about 13B and A for the last couple years and if it was a good idea to put a 2nd choice this year instead of just hunting 13B. My girlfriend and I went up 3 days before the hunt started and scouted on our own also. She and I decided where we would hunt opening day because of all the outfitters and pressure. She and I decided where we’d go the 2nd day and where to glass and how we would hunt the area. It was she and I who found the buck and put him on the ground. It was she and I who took care of the deer after he was down. In the end did Jason B help me?? Of course he did!! No doubt about it. I used info from his cameras on where bucks were at, I set my own camp, he didn’t guide me and tell me where to go or what buck to shoot or cape the buck and help pack it out! I also guide clients and have guys call me every year looking for info. Do I need my name mentioned or slap my own back cause I gave guys info where to go find rams even though I wasn’t there for the kill. NO! I do it cause I want guys to be successful and find sheep and have a great hunt! What Jason B and I have worked out between us is just that!! Between us! Have a good day!

I want to wish all of the folks with sheep tags the very best of luck on the upcoming hunts! Be safe, hunt hard, and most of all have a fun hunt! These tags can be competitive and stressful to some. Don't forget to take the time to "smell the roses".

He’s on a roll this year. Ethan nailed his first javelina 3 hours into his hunt. Huge surprise, the albino javelina was with the herd and didn’t see him until they all took off after the shot. Something to look for in Feb when we go back. Always loved the unit, and never seen as much elk sign as I have this trip. All over the place!!

504 from Heber connects with the 169 in 4A.

You can also access it from Heber by using the 504 road and driving across 4B until you cross chevelon creek into 4A.

If we get enough snow the elk should move to the north, so driving in from Winslow should be perfect.

He could have told me where to go look for deer but they aren’t standing in the same spot as they were even the day before. Still gotta go hunt! Sounds like you’re really making a name for yourself on CWT being a jackass!! I’d really love to share a hunting camp with you prima donna hunting guide! You’re one of those guys who saw a deer standing on a hill 3 years ago and told someone and needs your name mentioned in Muley Crazy aren’t you??!!

My son Jake connected on a nice buck this weekend on a jr. hunt. He wanted a 3x3 and luckily we got eyes on this guy once the fog lifted on Friday. The pack out was tough on him (and me) but he hung in there.

You did the right thing, congrats!

With the added water and feed, our target ram has about 45 square miles of rugged country he can disappear into. Fingers crossed.

I'm seeing 22-30" for Flag in the forecast. I remember several years ago that many had to leave their trailers out in 6B for the winter due to heavy snow. A full set of tire chains, tighteners, shovels, tow straps would certainly be in the truck for the snow and resulting mud. I think one would be better looking lower as the elk move to winter range. There may be a good possibility of Highway 180 closing at Kendrick Park due to drifting- couple feet of snow and 40 mph gusts in the point forecast for Thursday and Thursday night.

5-8" are forecasted in my unit for Friday. I have been waiting for Friday for at least 8 years now. Starting to get giddy.

Up to 4 feet atop the peaks and 12-24" for Flagstaff. 1-3 feet along the rim.

Work hard and you can find a big guy in any unit.........BOB!
