Me and my good buddy went out late in January. We had a great day out glassing for deer. We ended up finding this buck around 4 in the afternoon. And after a few minutes looking at the buck we both decided we would be more than happy to wrap our tags around this buck. So we flipped a coin and I got to chase him while he sat back and watched. I had to make a small loop around to get out of sight of the bedded buck and come up out of the wash up a super steep embankment. Within the last 10 feet or so from being able to crest over and see the location of the buck I rolled a rock down the embankment. Thinking I just screwed up that stalk I glass back to my buddy giving me the thumbs up that he's still there. So I knocked and arrow and crept up only to get caught by the buck at 40 yards. He didn't know exactly what was going on but he stood up in the brush and walked away from me towards his does. Long story short I followed him over a thousand yards or so with multiple shot opportunities over 80 yards to finally get a shot I felt comfortable with at 51 yards and the rest is history.

Couldn’t find much in the usual spots so we headed to a cool little canyon we discovered last year, a nice hike out of sight from the road and we got to glassing. At first we glassed up fresh digs a good 500 yards out and kept glassing, we figured the pigs were bedded down for their midday nap. About 2 pm we caught movement of pigs and the stalk was on. We arrived and only one pig was out. We were 112 yards away. My pops is confident at 100 with his TC so he let me shoot first with the new muzzleloader. I hit my pig and she went down screaming, that woke up the whole herd and they came into view. Pops got the pistol settled on a pig at 103 yards and it was over. Usually the HAM hunts kicks our butt with us walking miles and miles for 5 days. It was refreshing to harvest on the first day out!

Thanks again everyone. Good news is no surgery! They did a but scope and tummy scope and found inflamation. The obstruction we believe now was the actual inflamation. They took biopsy from each end and hopefully that will tell us why it happend to begin with. Initially he had the flew last week which snowballed the stomach thing. Anyhoo, thanks a bunch guys.

I am excited for the outcome and anticipating good things but not looking forward to all that happens in between ya know. My leg pain is just something fearce so I Pray this helps and gets me in a better place. I would love to be able to walk around a zoo or Disneyland with kids without having to fall out and sit out the day from leg pain. I have had near nonstop leg weakness and pain for so long I forget. Please pray for my recovery and for my family especially my wife who is having to deal with my constant surgeries and manage our children on her own. Got some new batteries in those toys I bought on here from Myrights as and made sure to get some fun time in today before having to be worked on tomorrow am. My silly wife even got in on the john deere race 😂

Got lucky and drew one of the 22 trophy lion tags in my unit. A friend of mine had the dogs. Hunting in 3 ft of snow made it a real challenge but super fun. Big Tom weighed in at 157 lbs and was 8 ft 5 inches long. Super excited to take a cat like this.

A good solid 16” at will get close to MOA will definitely be up to the task especially for someone used to working one. A good variable power scope and I’d be very comfortable with any good 16” AR

Went out with some friends to help hunt javalinas and this guy shows himself at 2 hours before sundown. Put on the decoy and made a stalk around a mountain. Came around a corner and was face to face with the buck at 50 yards. I believe he never ran because I had the decoy on. Perfect hit on a beautiful 4x3 and he didn't go more than 80 yards. Another awesome hunt with my friends. #nobusiness

I think he was saying your comment about Bertram addressed his issue that the only brass was Hornady...the question about what to do with it was directed back to the OP.
