My boy received an opportunity to hunt bison on a big ranch in Texas and it was to cheap to pass. Beautiful oak covered hill country, rich with big whitetails and all sorts of other exotics that cross between these large low fence ranches. Once we found the herd it was about an hour of cat and mouse until he got a clean shot on one of the bigger cows. Not a hard hunt but just a cool experience! Our friends from Texas joined us and helped with the butchering. Ranch house we stayed in was built in mid 1800’s and had been burned twice in conflicts with the Indians nearly 150 years ago. Can’t wait to try the meat. Left it with a processor out there and they are aging it 10 days for best flavor and tenderness. The coat on this cow was perfect! Should make a great rug.

Selling a Champion trophy 50 gun safe. Upgraded to platinum gloss paint, electronic lock. You can go to champion safes and look at specs. I don't know how to provide a link for that. But it is their big one that is 72" high 42" wide and 30"deep. Has interior led lighting. Safe is only a few months old. Reason for selling is wife and i are downsizing and i already have another large safe. Save yourself the tax. You will need to pick up and remove or have a safe mover do it for you. Weighs around i think 1000 to 1200lbs. No scratches or dents, chips. Asking $3700.00. Pm me if you have questions i will try to answer them.

If you guys need a good revolver gunsmith, call this guy. I had a issue with a Smith and Wesson revolver cylinder that would hang up. He was able to help me over the phone to correct the issue. Anyways he asked if I could spread the word and pass his info along to others. Great guy!

My son drew a tag for one of Colorado’s open space hunts this year. It is a neat opportunity because it allows you to hunt the month of December and January which fits well with kids school schedules. We drove out as a family Christmas Day and headed out on the 26th for our first day of hunting. Saw a pile of deer and my son picked the deer he wanted to harvest and made a great shot. It was a special day and one I will never forget. I can’t stress enough, IMO, how important it is to just get out and hunt with our kids! No expectations, no trophy talk, no making them wait years for a tag because we want them to shoot the buck of “our dreams”. Let them shoot what they want. Just get out there and soak up the opportunities…they grow up so fast and time is so fleeting!

There is so much misinformation posted on this topic, especially on ranches and there ownership and subsidies they get, less than 1%, but on a forum like this you can say anything, you will not be held accountable for it and we all understand that. Landowner tags, permits or vouchers can and do have a place in hunting if structured properly. For those that do not want them in any form at all, just remember if you participate in the Conservation First AZBGSR super raffle and you buy tickets for the Colorado or New Mexico bull elk hunts then you are supporting landowner tags, permits, or vouchers, because both of those hunts are landowner tags.

Awesome - great to have the kids with you! I'm headed down to Patagonia this weekend. I'm sure they will be laying low with this cold and wind moving in.

Pull pad, let pan dry .spray with a liquid rubber sealer. Or a tar seal. Should easily last the summer.

1 Working cowboy does more for wildlife than 1000 hunters do Most Large ranches are partially subsidized for maintaining roads and water catchments by Azgfd, MDF,NWTF,RMEF,BLM,DU,BOR, NFS

Do a little research and look up block management in Montana. Pretty cool concept, that I utilized, to hunt some areas in 2024 for Mule deer. Everything can be a give and take. The biggest reason landowners are cutting off access is because of asshole hunters and other recreators destroying their land. I would wager that any reasonable person would do the same. I can go back 20 years ago and remember helping landowners do work on their land in exchange for hunting access to waterfowl and other game. I used to burn salt cedars, pick up trash and help him post no trespassing signs. The amount of vandalism and dumping on his land was crazy.

I dont think its the other peoples property that's in question. It's the critters on the land that we own, and the private property owner being able to sell our animals for profit.

Here's a bit of info I just learned today. Roc Nation (Jay Z's company) schedules the HT show for the SB. Oh, and RN signed a multi year music deal with the NFL in 2019. Guess what race has been under represented in the HT shows for the last five years? Things That Make You Go Hmmmm... Eddie

How about 20 years ago when the ranchers wanted all the elk gone in the multi unit areas of 17, 18 and 19. " Get these elk out of our ranches they are ruining cattle grazing" fast forward a few years and maybe one ranch still gives you access to hunt these " invading creatures". Guides moved in and now you gotta pay? I say break down the units. Only issue 15 tags in 18b to give a big middle finger to the Bacca. And let the elk herd grow into a stable ,huntable population for us to enjoy.

The game kind of sucked it really wasn't competitive. But I did hit the final score in my squares so that was pretty cool.

Kapernic put an end to my pro sports interest all that kneeling and nonsense, and I haven't really missed it.......after looking up commercials from yesterday I could maybe work my way back into watching...... https://www.kptv.com/video/2025/02/09/secret-service-recruiting-ad-directed-by-michael-bay-air-during-super-bowl/

I stopped watching the HT shows about five years ago due to the performers lack of diversity as my race is not represented at all. As much as I'm sick of the NFL's off-the-charts wokeness, I simply cannot stop watching foorball. Eddie

I believe itll be full draw soon. Just like javelina. Who’d of thought archery pig would go to a draw ? I know several guys who swing for the fence on their rifle deer apps knowing that they can still deer hunt during archery season as they wait to pull a great tag. Once it happens, they’ll be rethinking it, probably putting in for less desirable hunts to be able to go hunt. Once it happens , it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamics of bonus pts changes.
