Hate to say this....actually, I LOVE getting to say this....Taylor drew ANOTHER 12AE late rifle tag this year. Luckiest kid ever. 3 Kaibab tags in 5 years. Unbelievable. 1 early, two late tags.

Well this year my youngest daughter was finally old enough to apply for the draw , to my surprise she drew a strip tag still in shock .

Cut tags by 10-20% and make everything except youth hunts at min 3 points to draw and no shooting spikes! This will start a riot here, but I'd vote for it in a second-- All of us residents already have 2 points before the draw, so you can't draw 2 years in a row.. big deal. At least whey you do draw, you will have a few of last year spikes to look at and place to look without some one walking by. More and more people moving into the state, more and more shooting/wounding animals too far away with better and better equipment all with lessening habitat to not do something about it. My .02

Cool that means there's a bigger than average ram in there πŸ˜†

That is better than decent. Good work. We worked pretty hard last year on the early rifle hunt in 12AE. I got a less decent buck than you did opening morning (still a decent 4x4), and my buddy ended up working a lot of miles and hills to end up taking a small forky off a main road.

It's been trending that way for a couple years. Only 51 for 36B on one hunt last year...about 250 for all 36s combined.

Application numbers are going up. I don't think there were a couple of hundred last year. Seemed much lower, as I remember trying to get my son one. Seems to me like it could just be more applications, plus possibly more folks picking 36B as 2nd (or even 3rd) choice to try to lock-in a tag as opposed to gambling on left overs. Doesn't seem to "fishy" to me, unless I'm missing something.....

Already has...last year our group got no tags by putting in primo hunts first and counting on pulling leftovers. Even fewer on the list this year...

Received a couple pics today from a guy working the fire still of a few sheep that are back in the burn area already.

And.. middle son got the hunt! Also a late youth Javelina in 18B. I’ve never seen him so excited. He really wants a bolt action. Time to sell the Remington 7400..

You can scout all you want now but the bulls you find in July/Aug will be miles away in Sept.

Reloading is the only activity that too much lube causes a problem.

Good for conservation. The game and fish will just correct it based on harvest objective and population objectives and it will generate more revenue for the state.

Took a picture of my tablet screen at the 1000 yard practice Saturday morning for those that might be interested in what data it gives you. This was with my .308 Win Palma rifle (iron sights and sling).

Hopefully we will be on there as well for pig and December deer. Hopefully find out this week!

Should be a great hunt. Spend your time looking for mulies and you'll see plenty of pigs.
