Meopta HD get my vote for 2nd place, I haven’t hunted with the GPO but I have compared them side by side with my Swaros when they first came out at Outdoorsmans, my backup/wife’s pair are the 12x50 meopta(cabelas). They are very good! Vortex doesn’t even come close. My wife prefers the Meopta over Swaro, not that she has tons of experience but when she looks through them side by side she says the Meoptas are brighter and clearer.

Shoot me cash offers or possibly trades to 602-350-6480. Both guns are in good condition. The pistol comes with 200 rounds and 2 magazines and the ar comes with 1 full p mag. The ar15 is a all parts from Palmetto State Armory. Thinking 500 for it? It has Magpul accessories such as grip, but stock, it also has nice and accurate flip up sites. It has a 16 inch barrel with a thin rail For comfort while shooting probably only been shot 200 times. The pistol is a Smith and Wesson M&p 2.0 full size 40 caliber in desert tan with a carrying case. I was thinking of asking 550 for it with everything if you would like more pictures you can feel free to shoot me a text.

I’ve only been around two of them, friends of mine who bought cva accuras against my caution. Both would only fire about 7 out of 10 times. Wouldn’t even set the primer off. Both had “stainless” barrels but they turned out to just be plated steel barrels so the bore wasn’t stainless which is important in a muzzleloader if you ask me. Can’t say that I’ve been around a new CVA but they were such a disappointment when I was around them I wouldn’t waste my time again. There’s so many better options out there I guess why risk it.

I was trying to get a feel of your comfort level with hunting. I would recomend a tripod for your glass, vanguard 264AO is a good entry level tripod. I would suggest you get used to using it. I don't know unit 10. I would suggest you listen to some Jay Scott podcasts that break down elk units. Good luck

A little info on them will go a long way.

Why run from cva and traditions? I do realize that cva had some issues for a while, but I have a new one that shoots great. I’m also a big rem 700 fan, but they put out some real poor quality rifles for a while around a decade ago... or is your opinion similar to the “everything but Swarovski sucks” crowd? I’m new to muzzleloadera but I’m just wondering

Run away from CVA and traditions. I’d get the ultimate. I own one of the original Michigan ultimates and am having another sabot less gun built. Most guns these days will shoot 1.5-2” groups when following the weird rituals that 777 requires but to get a real long range consistent gun you’ll want to use blackhorn and get something with a rifle primer ignition source or you’ll end up banging your head against the wall. If the Remington doensnt come with a muzzle break factor one into your budget as my Michigan ultimate kicks even with a break. I shoot 110gr blackhorn by weight (about 160 by volume) with a 300gr Parker black max at 2400fps. That’s got more KE then a 30-06 with 180’s. It’s a mean rig. Used to be muzzleloaders killed more like bows by just putting a big hole in a critter. These will kill with hydraulics just like any other rifle.

Never had a pair in my hand, but I'd be curious about a set of Mavens. Their 11x45 B.2's are $1100, and they have a demo program that can save you some $$

If he did in fact draw primo tags this year, you know G&F is going to have him covered like flies on $hit.

Actually I don't "know" that. Is there a law that prevents you from stating facts of his innocence? Perhaps you have been given advice from an attorney not to discuss this? Maybe a court order? There is no "fact " that you could relay that would in any way hurt your brother's case. Public knowledge of any "fact" would do nothing but help your brother, especially in the sentiment department. With all of the bashing that has gone on both for and against him, "facts" would go much further than accusations and name calling. So if you are allowed to come to a public forum and claim his innocence and disparage any person with a different opinion, surely you are not under any court order or advice to refrain from speaking on the matter. As such, what exactly is preventing you from stepping up and putting this thing to rest? I don't know you or your brother and have little to no knowledge of the event(s) in question. I have only been following this thread because the behavior is very entertaining in a dumpster fire sort of way. Or, perhaps I simply misunderstood your answer and you are not willing to expound on the 2% for which you claim he is actually guilty.

this scope is supposed to be a great value for the money. I researched them awhile back and almost pulled the trigger on one, and stumbled into something different.

Have you picked out a new bow yet? A 400 bull shouldn’t be to hard to find, they are pretty much everywhere in 23N. You have done the hard part. Getting drawn that is. The last tag that I drew in a unit and it was in a unit that I knew I started going up in April looking around.

Were running Manfrotto Fluid heads, my brother inlaw has the 502a and im running the XPro. Both are great heads. Im running a carbon Manfrotto tripod and I think he's running a SLIK carbon. Both set up are pretty solid have no complaints with either. I've ran a btx on mine no issues. Switching to a fluid head made a world of difference in glassing and filming for me.
