Saved him when he was tied to a fence in the heat at 6 months. Gave the guy money to take him home.
7.5 years only. Died of cancer. He had a great life.
With some of the youth hunts starting this week I wanted to share a video of my daughter's hunt from back in 2018. I've been hunting all my life and hunting with my kids is definitely my favorite. Hope this gets some of you excited for the up coming deer season and good luck to all the youth hunters this weekend!
I wanted to share something I thought some of you might find this interesting. Check out the cool color differences between these two bucks. The main difference that immediately stood out to me was the difference in velvet color then after watching the video a bit more I noticed the color differences in their fur as well. One buck is mostly grey while the other has quite a bit more color to him. He's got a reddish orange color on the back of his legs, tail and armpits. I never gave much thought to velvet color before but I must say I'm quite intrigued now after seeing this. I did a quick Google search but couldn't find anything on a bucks velvet color. I wonder if there's a correlation between velvet color and the color of a bucks fur? What have you guys noticed? Is this just a coincident?
Tomorrow all the kiddos are going to embark on a venture that they will remember for the rest of their life whether they harvest or not. All you mom’s and dad’s and grandparents take the time to enjoy the time with your kids because it goes by fast. Have fun be safe God bless all you.
I highly recommend purchasing a system to allow her to shoot standing up. That are has a lot of 5 foot tall Manzaneta that makes shooting prone almost impossible. We use the triclawps.
