A friend of mine is looking to take 4 wounded vets dove hunting on his private ranch in Buckeye on September 5th. If you know of a vet who was wounded in the line of service please contact me. We are specifically looking for vets who don't get the opportunity to get out and who would greatly benefit from spending some time in the outdoors. Food, license, ammo will be provided. The media does some great stories on educators, the problem is alot of people don't watch those stories because they think we are a bunch of cry baby liberals. I have seen many people on this site post such opinions.......As is sit here at 7:30pm watching mandated safety videos. I am thankful that a few guys on here have already spoke up and that many of us continue to do our job for the sake of helping students; not because we can't do something else, but because we all chose to get into education for a common goal. This is my 26th year in education. Before this career, I worked for the Game and Fish Department and made $3.25 an hour in the Biology department. My 1st teaching contract was also $19,000 per year, about what I would have made as a full time Biologist for the Game and Fish. Yes, I chose to get into teaching for the benefits and for my love of science. I could teach, coach and be with my own kids when they were out of school - family time is crucial. Now, I am the head counselor at a high school and have my masters degree. I finally make a decent salary. I no longer coach, but instead many of my after school hours are dedicated to school improvements, building the master schedule, writing letters of rec, talking to parents, talking to kids off the edge of suicide, filing abuse cases with DES, keeping kids eligible to play ball, and the list goes on....... Very few teachers took this summer off. Teachers, counselors and administrators worked hard all summer in order to get ready for online schooling. I worked every day this summer and did not get paid. I am not complaining and I take great pride in making sure students at my school have every opportunity to be happy and successful. No one was prepared for this, but everyone is doing their best. Teachers did not go to college and become educators to sit in front of a computer all day and try to teach chemistry. The lack of social interaction is affecting both students and educators. Every educator I know would rather see a classroom full of students right now.

Your ignorance is showing. Teachers don’t get half the year off. All those things you just named are the same stupid things that every company has employees complaining about. They are professionals who deserve to be treated like professionals instead of as personal babysitters. I for one sure as heck wouldn’t want to go into a room full of 30 nose-picking booger flingers whose parents are sick of having to spend time with them.

Have always really wanted to take a coues deer with a bow and in velvet. And while I’ve never been able to hunt the early hunt due to baseball, this year was canceled so figured I’d give it a go. Had multiple bucks on camera that were decent. Just wanted a branch antlered coues would be good with me. More than happy with this buck and best of luck to the rest of the hunters out there. Also glasses up a couple mature bucks Beating the heck out of one another. That was pretty cool to see. Cheers to a good start of the 2020 hunting season IMG_2424.MOV

Did I mention that it's never too late for hope. Received a call from AZGFD a few weeks back offering me a Bull Elk tag that someone had surrendered. Unit 27 late Nov. rifle hunt. I want to thank who ever did this.

That ain't fun. On one summer fishing trip with a family in tow, our wrangler was leading the string of pack horses at the beginning of the line and I was bringing up the rear. We were on a narrow trail with cliffs on one side and a steep drop on the other. It was raining. The wrangler was about go around a sharp bend when a backpacker with a bright red poncho appeared in front of him. The wrangler's horse and the first one in his string jumped sideways toward the steep drop. Wrangler got control, but the pack horse went bye-bye. We were able to recover our gear because the trail eventually switchbacked to within 30 feet of the now-dead horse.

We could ask MulePackHunter Mike about animals going off cliffs and into bottomless ravines...but he probably doesn't want to talk about it.

All things things you all are saying are not exposed outside media. Look at my angle and bias, I just thought it was the way I put in the above post, but dang, sure am wrong, and not afraid to admit it. The things you all as teachers do, goes oh so very unnoticed.

I’m a teacher. I didn’t walk for red for Ed. I don’t get half a year off. I coached 3 sports for a while, now down to 1 sport. I don’t get paid much, I do more for my community than most people. Tons of teachers are ready for in school teaching, I sure wish Combs had real teachers.

While I agree with most of the initial post, there are some great benefits from being a teacher, one of them is not lots of money and the other is not half the school year off! And yes I enjoy my career and have figured out how to live off of two teacher salaries that add up to what most would consider the amount of pay for one profession! I didn't walk out on Red For Ed because it ain't my belief or style and I am thankful my school district chose to keep working! I started out in 1990 at $19,000.00 a year, my wife the same so as a couple we made $38,000.00 a year! After 30 years I make $45,000.00 a year! Most professions comparable years of college plus 30 years would put me somewhere up at least 80-90K without my wife working! I have built cabinets, worked that pig farm, Home Depot, during the summers to supplement my "days off" from school teaching! I ain't saying things are right in education because I have my own personal beefs with the system but don't throw all teachers under the bus.........there's a bunch of really good teachers out there that spend a lot of time trying to make a difference in kids lives. I ain't complaining, just trying to shed a little light on money, days off and I don't doink the principal!

Never has, never will. At this point to anyone who thinks the virus isn't being politicized well beyond its actual danger is brain dead.

I don’t think so, but I didn’t ask the previous owner. He was selling 4-5 other variety of boots and they were all new. He stated he was trying on multiple pairs to see which ones fit best. I blame the COVID for making my feet fatter in the last 4 months!!!
